I'm not sure why you are spending so much time attacking people with ADSL problems in all the support threads. Do you get a rise out of it?

My Webafrica account is fine, but I would like to know I can report problems without getting judged.
 
Downloading right now on WA Business Capped. 404Kb/s

Not sure what everybody is moaning about. Unless on 2Mb Home Uncapped...........................

Just need some info, my father is on your 2Mbps uncapped plan and would like to downgrade to the 1Mbps uncapped plan, does he need to notify Telkom as well or will you?

yes first do the downgrade on line VIA telkom (unless WA is managing your line), then adjust the package with WA
 
People, you need to learn the difference between a bit and a Byte or else we have no idea.

Line speed is often specified in Mb/s. Note the small b, that's a bit.

Download speed is often mentioned in KB/s. Note the Byte.

There are 8 bits in a Byte.

So a 4 Mb/s line can download at around 400 KB/s. (note there is a protocol overhead so you can divide by 10 rather than 8)

I do understand all this. I still am not sure what speed I am downloading at? My SABnzbd is showing 402Kb/s. I download an average of 1.2 Gb per hour. If that is at a quarter of my line speed, it isn't very good is it?

Mybb speedtest: 2,59Mbps

400 KB/s is typical of a 4 Mb/s line/account.

SABnzb displays it's download speed in KB/s, not Kb/s.

You are getting what is considered within normal for your line speed, SABnzbd is KB/s and 1.2GB per hour is also within the norm. It's not a quarter, DJ... knew you meant 404 Kilobytes per second not Kilobits, sometimes people mix them up and it's hard to figure out which one they mean sometime.

I didn't know that's what he meant, hence why I posted the byte conversion number. Was going to explain the difference but bio sorted that out...

Thought you knew, sorry, anyway he now knows his line is OK and everyone had a lesson in bit and byte.

Firstly thank you everybody for pitching in with feedback and info. Secondly I think I was the main turd in the water pipe by posting Kb/s stats when it was KB/s form my SABnzbd. Obviously this lead to confusion. My apologies for that.
