Morning folks,

Hope everyone had a good weekend!
Where these slow speeds only experienced on Sunday?

I switched across to Afrihost when it happened so I am not sure how it was after that. Have switched back to WA and will see how it goes today. I hope the new uncapped is not effecting us normal users.

I had no issues this weekend. Was playing SW:ToR most of the weekend without any issues on both EU and US servers.

think we should start adding location/account types when posting here, cause its working fine for some just not for all

Anybody else having problems with WA's news server? Or is there something wrong with my setup?

No reported issues on our news server. What issues are you experiencing?

I'm getting "StatusCode: 499" errors once it tries to download anything. I can connect to the server fine. Any idea what that code means?

Our Neotel connection isn't happy. International access seems non-existent. Is there a more widespread issue than just what Web Africa users are experiencing?

Our network is fine, just seems to be affecting our News Server, which is locally based and runs off our Local backbone.
Engineers are having a look at the news server as we speak :)

I've been suffering with a WA RedAfrica account since yesterday morning. Extremely slow at times (if not completely dead). Pages time out while trying to load. Then all of sudden all is fine for a few minutes.

Initially I thought it was our ADSL line that could be faulty, so I switched over to our backup line but it's still the same. The ADSL remains sync'd at a steady 4mbps, and attenuation and noise margin figures reported by the reported are the ones are usually get (I keep records).

Happens on several different websites, including FNB.co.za, Clicaktell.com and MyBB.

Upload speeds don't seem to be affected though. I'm based in Joburg. Anyone else suffering the same problems?

Can you post up a tracert and some speedtest info so I can have a look at this for you please.
Also, if you can PM me your client code and ADSL telephone number so I can also see if our ADSL guys can see any issues on their side.

Thanks :)

An update Jeff? At present it is dead for me and since 7 this morning I have managed about 3 gigs which is really poor for a 6 meg line

Browsing too is really slow

News server seems to be going full steam again. I guess the issue is resolved and / or it is after business hours

Good stuff

Morning all,

The guys who have had issues last night on International - did anyone contact our ADSL guys for a better check? Networking graphs aren't showing any issues that I can see.

For the news server, my query that I logged with our Engineers is still pending. Will hopefully have an answer for everyone later today.

Thanks Jeff. I was up and running after 17:00 yesterday, but not full steam. It did get better as time went on. I noticed this morning a very slow start, then an hour at full capacity and by 5.30, very erratic speeds. I could not get my DL completed in DL+ time, even though it should have been done within 5 hours.
