Has WA been on a really bad luck streak for the past 2 years? I think they over sold their capacity and are now struggling to keep up with maintenance/upgrades. How else do you explain the terrible shaping during office hours?Guys I think you need to give WA a bit of a break on this outage...this specific outage was caused by Telkom not WA, probably an issue on the ESR...Can you even imagine how frustrating it must be for WA having to rely on Telkom to rectify the problem...Have you tried getting Telkom to fix your DSL ? I mean it was not WA that did the maint is was Telkom, and at that it was unplanned...vent your frustration at Telkom on this one...not WA!
As for other issues you guys are experiencing with WA...well... I can't comment on those. They do seem to have a bit of a crisis with stability at the moment ...

Seriously, I don't loose it often, but I am on a short fuse.
I am so sick of having to reboot my router every 30 minutes just to get my connection to work. WTF is going on? I stream like I am on a 384 line. I can't load webpages, seriously WTF?
Dear Web Africans
I’d like to take a moment to personally apologise and offer an explanation for the ADSL issue many of you experienced on Tuesday afternoon.
This occurred due to Telkom performing unplanned maintenance on one of our core IPC connections. As a result, our network capacity was substantially and unexpectedly reduced to our ADSL subscribers, causing slow speeds and a general degradation between 2.40pm and 8.45pm.
We understand that the inconvenience caused by poor connectivity is both frustrating and not what you have come to expect from Web Africa.
I’d like to personally apologise and assure you that we are working closely with Telkom to ensure that no further outages of this nature recur.
We appreciate all your support and look forward to providing a seamless ADSL experience going forward.

Thanks Jeff for this, but to me this just seems like a repeat of what we have heard before.
Thankfully my needs are not business related, so what for me is really annoying etc, for many is a loss of potential revenue etc.
What I cannot understand, and would really appreciate an answer on, is why for a tier 1 ISP who claim to be a major player, and the best etc, you have no plan B. Sure you guys have pointed out that is was Telkom's fault (and this will happen again...and again) but why do you not have a plan B so that we have "a seamless ADSL experience"? You have had outages before - would that have not caused you to plan for future problems and put a back up in place?
