I really don't want to troll here... But MWEB.

I signed up Monday after being on MWEB's trial since Thursday. The latency is perfect (stable, no packet loss, no grief).

So... yeah, I'm happy. Apart from a couple of annoying (read: MEGA ANNOYING) user control panel issues I'm having with MWEB, I don't miss WebAfrica yet.

Just sad that I have to pay R599 for an account that I won't be using this month :p

In the space of 20mins.

We may have a little problem here...
Your connection scored only 39% of your hosts average. This does not always mean that you're in bad shape. Our knowledge of hosts averages derive from the previous 30 days tests ran from a given provider. If the Internet package that you pay for happens to be slower than most people on your ISP then you will get this message.

Wow, from these threads it seems that WA is haemorrhaging their uncapped clients something fierce.

Most of us have been taking their crap because of the RedAfrica account. But prices will be dropping in the coming weeks. So I'll be moving for sure.

Morning guys,

Very strange reading through these posts this morning, networking monitoring is showing 100% and asking a few of the guys around the office - their connections where fine last night.
Did anyone contact Support about this, get tracert's, known sites that are slow etc etc?

Regardless, I'll have this escalated onto our Networking guys to investigate what happened last night - there might be an explanation on the slow speeds experienced here. Before I do this though, I'll need a bit of info from you guys. Please PM me the following and I'll have things escalated for you:

  • Please set the subject line as Slow ADSL so I know what's what.
    • Customer Code
    • What time did you notice the slow speeds?
    • What was slow? Downloads, browsing, streaming etc.
    • Account Type. Uncapped, Home ADSL, Business ADSL etc.
    • Any other relevant info. Tracert's, speedtests, ping times etc.

Because a lot of guys have had issues, I will most likely not be able to reply to all the PM's. I promise, I've got it and read all of them :)

As I reported on WA forums, same issue, I get 1/4 speed with packet loss on WA and full speeds through Axxess with no issues. I am on a 4MB ADSL Line with 10GB Home Pro.

Everything is being addressed in due time. Because the Online Team doesn't work 24/7 - we can't always get to things as they're posted.

Re-posting from the last page.

6 Hour Usage: 0.80 GB 0.79 GB
So I hit my threshold while downloading some Linux updates.

Ouch... throttled to 15-40KBps.

Thanks, just cancelled my account. This was the nail on the head combined with the unplayable-factor for online games.

Oh, I can't even do that....

YIKES! An unexpected error seems to have occurred.
