Just want to confirm quickly, all the guys who have PM'ed me are all in the JHB/ Gauteng area. Anyone from CPT who had issues last night?

Most of us have been taking their crap because of the RedAfrica account. But prices will be dropping in the coming weeks. So I'll be moving for sure.

The RedAfrica account is the sole reason I'm still with WA. Even so, I have to use a different ISP for most of my gaming because of routing/latency/shaping issues. If prices for larger capped accounts drop I'll seriously consider moving.

I have a different account as a backup. I don't want to have to use two account simply because one has serious issues (in this case with packet loss wrt gaming).

I agree. I am on the myBB special and it is still not worth moving, but I do keep my eyes and ears open for other options as there are just too many issues / excuses / promises that are not kept.

I was in Johburg for a few days and using my family's wifi. They have a 384 line and my browsing on my iPhone was generally better than when at home on my 6 meg WA line.

It is interesting that with the changes to some packages made by WA that the special accounts have not changed (which WA did do in the past). I am sure they do want to get rid of us special folk :)

In fairness I must say that they have some great staff who really do try to help, but I think their hands are tied by network and capacity issues. Kudos to them for all they do

Just watched 1.5 hours of Let Talk Geek (local stream) with no problem. Switched to live.twit.tv (400 Kbps) and it buffers.

I am so over this useless company. Just waiting for IPC related new pricing and I'm out of here ...

Same here. Replied on Wa forums, but last night at 10pm I had no issues. Last I saw issues were at 5pm.

My line was slow last night (around 11pm), streaming TED talks, and YouTube was buffering all but 240p. 10mbps home uncapped.

First attempt at testmy.net. The results were based on 4 tests.

Not great at all considering I have a 6 meg line :(

I think this whole testmy.net is bull **** i am sorry , i have tested on wa saix and IS account and none of them get full line speed.
10mb line of course.

to test you line you need to use your isp Speed test sever or news sever or ftp.
If those local connections are slow then there is issue on the ipc or international connectivity issue.

Also the testmy.net sever is a international server if it was local then full line speed will be a reached.

any way that my 2cents
