Nearly on my way home, will do some tests to see if my connection is doing the same.

The port reset that froot is refering to is a reset on the DSLAM side of your connection, you need to phone Telkom for this.

It does sometimes help resolve strange issues on an ADSL lines.

Same on my side - some sites slow, others don't open at all. Account reset didn't help. Argh.

I am aware of what he is referring to. I just can't imagine that it will resolve my issue with WA when all other ISPs are fine. At the same time only certain ports on WA are affected... Additionally to that I saw the same issue on my work's ADSL line. The common denominator here is WA...

saix account downloaded exe file no issue wa account 1 min left but been there for 3 min...

wait just timed out

and that link

i get Error Page Exception

SRVE0260E: The server cannot use the error page specified for your application to handle the Original Exception printed below.

Busy upgrading the capacity of the network. Apologies for the disruption guys.

Ah so I am assuming that would explain my DL+ problems.

Very poor morning in DL+ hours
1st hour 189 megs
2nd hour 197 megs
3rd hour 1256 megs
4th hour 1922 megs
5th hour 1182 megs (and DL finished)

It was only in the 4th hour that speeds were close to full speed .

On a positive note, the full DL was from WA news server

Thanks Rupert for this feedback - can we hope for improved performance now?

It would relate to poor D+ speeds last night yes.
We're constantly seeing improvements on our network, so an improvement should be seen yes,

Its understandable that you need to perform upgrades at certain times. But it is not acceptable that you fail to communicate this with your customers. You could have so easily sent out an email to your client base and informed them of the upgrades.

Thanks Jeff for feedback re DL+

Sadly your second sentence just not seem to be true for many of us users (with very varied experiences and some areas ok and others not) , but let's hope this upgrade will help

Agree 100% with you here.
The capacity upgrades weren't expected to cause any disruptions to services, hence no notification where posted.

In future, we'll definitely post about this.

Thanks Jeff, I have always been very happy with my WA account and would hate to see that change.

Are there any known issues at the moment? I am unable to connect to my home PC even though I can see that it is connected.

Yep there are more issues on the WA network this fine morning.

I was unable to access my home PC from FNB and even my WA account. Yet when I logged in with an Afrihost account I could immediately access it....

I am trying to access 41.185.129.2xx
Successful from 196.215.82.xxx (Afrihost)
Unsuccessful from 41.185.129.1xx (WA)
Unsuccessful from 41.183.22.xxx (FNB)

I tried all of the above, and then reset everything and tried all of them again. On both cases WA and FNB failed to connect to WA, and in both cases Afrihost could connect to WA.

No reported issues on our side at the moment. What do our ADSL guys say?
