Tried to play TF2, even thou the ping was 50 the packet loss is SO BAD it feel like your playing portal... teleporting all over the place... can't use this crap for youtube, gaming or downloads.
 
Just when I thought things were improving

Just checked the logs from Netlimiter for DL+ this morning and things were quite consistent at about 1.4 gigs per hour for the 3 hours of DL that I did. (I should be at about 2.2 gigs if going full steam)

I go to check the stats for WA and Astraweb from SABnzbd and about 75% of the DL was from Astraweb and the rest from WA. The files I was DL'ing were less than 30 hours old, so all should be from WA

What I find frustrating is that things are being investigated and then a few weeks later, nothing comes of it (or even worse, just get ignored such as the issue with bandwidth usage and monitoring that some poor uncapped users are battling with)

If all was going well and 1. WA had proper capacity and 2. the news server was working as it should, my DL should have happened in 2 hours, and all via the WA news server.

Anyway banging my head against a wall is less painful than trying to get to the bottom of some issues with WA :confused:
 
What I do not understand is why the connection just drops from being perfect to nothing just randomly ? yo-yo effect.. happens quite often.

It's not relevant to this thread and this poster has made five posts in total, all promoting this ISP, obvious spam.

Anyone having any luck with WA news server. Have tried for 10 to 15 minutes with no luck; and then enabled Astraweb, and it flew, so am assuming the WA news server is down.

Oh well, hopefully will be up and running during DL+ hours :)

Why do you bother with local news servers if I may ask ? not flaming.. just asking ?

Rands and cents TBH. I - even though I am on a special account - am paying a lot for broadband, so if I can keep that cost down, then I want to. I do use Astraweb, but that is my back up; I feel that I should get most of my DL from WA and the news server used to be top draw.

Anyway my DL's did start some time after 1:00

Can you PM me your client code so I can have this investigated for you please.
 
My internet connection [WA manages the line-Titan special]have beenon and off quite frequently over the last few weeks, although this may have had something to do with the rain. I did notify WA support, they tried a port reset, and when that didn;t help they escalated the matter to Telkom-who may take some time to respond as they probably have a backlog to work through.

I am hoping that this time the Telkom technician actually does find something this time, or at least that the connection does decide to fall over just when he is testing it.
