I noticed another thing, when on WA I keep having to pause and resume the SWToR patcher to get it to download the last couple of KB's of every patch whereas when I'm using a proper ISP this doesn't happen.

Sounds like you're having trouble with being able to start and not finish :D
I must say I never had that problem with WA.

I don't finish prematurely :p

WA struggles to get something done though.

I have a ticket logged with Telkom and have spoken to support a few times, but WA over last few days has been shocking for me. Today have not been able to stream youtube; internet radio has buffered; could not load speedtest; browsing really slow; file DL from youtube stopped.

Connect to Afrihost account; file DL going full steam and DL'ed in a few minutes; speedtest loads; youtube works fine etc etc.

I am sorry but WA you guys are having issues and trying to blame Telkom is really frustrating - if it was Telkom, then Afrihost would be giving me same issues

My new line is being installed tomorrow and if I still experience issues with WA I am canceling my account. Done done and done.

DNS is not working right.

Had to change to Google's DNS servers before everything resolved again.

Very bad experience here. When i signed up two months ago for the 1mb uncapped i was very impressed but there has been a steady decline and has got to the point where i will move to another ISP at the end of the month if things don't improve. Video streaming eg. Youtube is non existant, gaming is erratic and it takes forever to log into services such as steam. Can't blame the line since my capped account with another ISP has no problems. Terrible terrible service, recommend staying away.

I have bad news for you...you can't move to a new ISP at the end of the month as Webafrica have a 1 calendar month cancellation policy and it appears they won't make any exceptions, no matter how unhappy you are with their service.

If you cancel today, which would be advised, you will only be able to move at the end of June, unless you are willing to pay for 2 ISP's at a time.

Hi Jeff,

Excellent, I've already PM'd you my client code today.

Please see what can be done regarding the cancellation of this account immediately due to very poor service and network speeds.

I've only used (2.48 GB of 30 GB) and (911.51 MB of 100 GB)Download plus and more of the invoice due has been settled for this service to cover this usage at my current rate, I believe.

I added a very long note in my cancellation request sent last month also mentioning I would like my account cancelled and would like to circumvent the 1 month calendar notice....didn't get any reply.

Hi grim.

It's most definitely not the website, but rather webafrica that is problematic on that site.

If you use the none ssl link: http://my.elitehost.co.za/speedtest/ you'll notice that speeds are fine. This indicates that something is blocking speed to SSL to that site, which I manage.

Also if you use the ssl version on IS or any other ISP, the speeds are fine.

It's not some obscure slow server I'm testing from. That's a server hosted on the IS network which only hosts that website. No problems on the server itself, only from webafrica between the hours of 9:50am and 5:00pm.

EDIT: This does cause some concern for all our clients who order hosting services from us who may be on the webafrica network as they'll have a very shoddy experience as our whole billing system is on SSL.
