Web Africa ADSL general feedback

Diablo 3 latency still hasn't been sorted properly.

If I connect directly I get lag spikes lasting 10-30 seconds on WA.

If I tunnel my traffic via a server in France, bypassing your crappy shaping devices, I get a solid 240ms without any spikes.

No worries :) When you do test it out, drop me a PM with the results and your account details, will have things checked out for you.

PM sent, but in short everything seems to be back to normal again, currently running at full line speed :)

Will have a chat with our ADSL & Networking guys around the D3 latency issues. Not sure why it's crept back in, we saw some positive feedback after we saw it as resolved.

As a heads-up, please take note of network maintenance that will be done tonight.

I had no connectivity 3 times last night at 22:00,23:00 and 00:00 for about 15 minutes each, strangely none of my accounts worked. The line was still synced but couldn't connect.

Anyone aware if Telkom was doing any sort of maintenance on the IPC links last night?

This may have been related to the maintenance that I posted about, or Telkom doing work on your DSLAM. Did you contact our ADSL guys to see if any troubleshooting could be done at the time?

It wasn't only my WA account affected so I switched to my 3G, figured it it wasn't sorted in the morning I'll phone Telkom.

Yay received my last invoice for WebAfrica just now, good ridance

While I wholeheartedly agree with you, you must keep in mind that the exchange we are connected to is extremely overloaded.

I frequently test it with accounts from both WA and IS, and they both perform badly with high pings. I also have an 8ta account, but because this is being routed through the same exchange, it is equally as bad.

Are you on 4Mb/s by the way?

Sorry to see you leaving us. Anything that I can double check on our end? I see the exchange/ DSLAM may be affected. Would you like me to confirm?

@WAJeff

Well done wa is really trying playing now as we speak solid 230 ms ping and seacom is down

I do not use my WA account much these days due to having a far superior experience on my MWeb account. I use WA more for downloads. Tonight reminds me why

Can't not stream internet radio without short buffer periods; try to watch youtube and things are slower than on a 384 connection. Come on WA on a 6 meg line these really should not be issues :(

i have had it with this account cancelling it when i get home never in my life have i had so much **** with a ISP....

Last night was kak went and bought a axxess account R19 p gig no issue after that.

D3 230 ms ping love it good bye WA.

Wow. Seriously never seen so many customers complaining about the same issues over and over. Clearly you have a problem somewhere WA.

WA actually came up in a board meeting the other day and the poor performance. We are moving our office over to another ISP due to the poor performance.

Not great to see you're experiencing poor speeds. I can happily say that we've seen a big improvement on our side, so would like to see where the slow speeds are coming in.
Please drop me a PM with your client code and I'll follow-up on things for you.

Anyone else having the worst performance tonight?
yep had problems on Afrihost as well so it doesn't seem to be just WA. I'm sure it will be back to normal tomorrow.

It is mostly https & google stuff so yeah they said there would be issues if you read WaJeff's post
