Web Africa ADSL general feedback

Web africa answer me this.

The thrid month of your ipc issues.. directly relating to you selling capacity that you do not have. Then FORCING us to stick it out another month? Afrihost has the same problem unfortunately this is a problem with the management of the company and to be honest they should be fired and replaced with competent people.

I would also suggest a refund policy that comes into effect when you clearly sold a product that you do not have...

out of interest if have the 1gb+1gb account and I get charged 38 rand a month to my invoice is that normal?

This is absolutely ridiculous that we cannot even download e-mail. You guys are quick to contact us to do web hosting and get our signature and business, but are proving to be really bad. If this isn't resolved by days end we are moving our business elsewhere. And you can forget about a months notice. Dont see why need to give a months notice on a product that doesn't perform properly. Im sure there are other ISP's out there that can do a better job. Don't make your IPC problems ours...

Hi BrendanMc,

That's very strange that you can't even download emails. Please DM me your account details so I can have a look.

Fine don't answer me.

Overselling and overbooking
The Act provides for the "reasonableness" test for overselling and overbooking. In terms of this test a supplier may not accept payment for goods or services where it has no reasonable intention to supply the goods or services, or where it intends to supply goods or services that are materially different to the goods or services for which the consumer has paid.

I wonder if this has power over WA in this situation... 120ms LOCAL ping right now on the WA network.

So been looking over the bandwith profiles here:

http://support.webafrica.co.za/inde...rticle/View/669/0/bandwidth-priority-profiles

Has this changed?
I recall that business was under gold?

This is pathetic... 3 days since i asked for an update on my support ticket and no answer.

I am going to call upon the power of the CPA now because my next step will be to contact the consumer protector.

2. The right to disclosure and information

Consumers must be provided with the facts needed to make informed choices and ensure their protection against dishonest or misleading advertising and labelling.

Why is your network performing this badly? Why is your support so SLOW? Why is your business DAYtime performance so bad ping wise at the moment?

5. The right to redress

Consumers must receive a fair settlement of just claims, including compensation for misrepresentation, or shabby goods or services.

I excpect you guys not to care but I expect this also applies to you

Hi bgotapen,

I'm not avoiding your query. We do pride ourselves in being transparent and for offering good service to our customers, but, I do admit that these network issues might have made you and some of our customers second guess us and that's totally understandable.

However, we're waiting on Telkom's network upgrades to be completed and that's going to be happening very, very soon. With that being said, we haven't changed the bandwith profiles - but due to the network capacity we've priotised other protocols so we can accomodate everyone.

We cannot apologise enough for the inconvenience caused and we really feel bad about this situation we've put you in.

Running 2mb DSL with Webafrica (line and uncapped home account) and based in North Beach DBN.

At night its decent / usable, but during the day its unbearable.
Try to load gmail and open attachments - fails, try to download attachment and takes 2minutes plus to download 100kb attachment.
Try to speedtest and even that times out on the upload.

Been this way during the day for sometime - daytime access is no longer usable.

Switch to Afrihost connection while on same line and gmail loads up immediately.

Is this related to this IPC bull I see being discussed, or is that CT only?
When/what is timeframe to fix this supposed capacity mess - if any?
Clear answers so we can make clear decisions (on whether to move or not because its actually unusable).

Shocking speed - very slow browsing, downloading of attachments etc !

Been like that since I came home (5PM). Terrible.

Get your bloody act together! Jesus Christ.

Seriously, the lack of feedback and support is alarming. Almost a day later and I have had no feedback. Is this the kind of service that we can expect from Web Africa on all fronts?

Hi BrendanMc,

Sorry for the delay in responding to you. I've replied to your PM.

There is no reply to tickets. Phone and you will get no one.

Live chat your 2nd in line and then it just says send a ticket.

Sorry but openweb is looking better than webafirca at the moment and I am typing it with a straight face. :wtf:

I have used WA's live chat about 6 times the last 2 days to resolve some hosting setup issues. Never waited more than 2 minutes to start chat and get info. Not sure what is happening with you guys?

It says your in line... 1st or second then it says everyone is busy after 5-10 mins and stops with a message saying you should submit a ticket.

This is almost 4 days later now still no reply on the ticket. At last the other ****ty isp's reply to their tickets within an reasonable time span....

Hi, is anyone on a capped WA getting shaped between 5pm and midnight ?
I say 5pm cos thats when i get back from work and notice the slow down.
