Considering getting Web Africa as ISP choice for fibre installation.

Any good or bad stories?

Alternatives are iConnect, Cool ideas and Vox.

Everytime I open this section of the forum I find people complaining about WA. If it was my money I would stay away. I would rather look at Cool Ideas or Crystal Web.

A friend of mine has the exact opposite with Webafrica, amazing performance (This is OpenServe and a capped package).

I do know another who uses iConnect uncapped 20mbit @R1200 a month and is very happy but I found them pretty horrible to deal with. They wanted to charge the OpenServe installation fee even though OpenServe has the special running until end of June and when I queried that part there was no explanation other than its a fee I must pay and their website sucks. So I've had positive references of the service by users for both.

I have had Webafrica / Openserve since Dec 2016.
Installed within 1 week and amazing performance.

Webafrica on Openserve capped for the last 2 months.

Took them 3 months to get the installation sorted out, & customer service feedback during that time was abysmal.

Now that it's up & running we have no complaints.

I've been with Webafrica on Vumatel since February this year. Less than a week after my first query to them I had both the Vumatel CPE installed and my line activated and working.

Had to call them pretty late at night because I switched routers, and I was impressed that at how quickly they helped me. My internet has also been amazing since the start, 50mb uncapped.

I also read pretty negative reviews about them when I started looking, but a colleague suggested trying them based on his service from them, and them covering all of the installation+activation charges saved me around R6000 was awesome too.

I've been running with Web Africa on a capped FTTH account on Openserve's infrastructure for more than a year now. Had a few minor delays in the application process, but once those were resolved, the line was installed in a matter of days.

Other than my own power going offline, I haven't had any issues on my line. It's been stable and consistent since I got it.

Hope this helps :)

The sign up process, and their sales pitch may be flawless - but the service delivery of said install is lacking (possibly as a result of OpenServe)
That said though, ordered through Afrihost (OpenServe), and they where at my door installing after 1 week, WebAfrica did not even place an order on my behalf ?
In the end though, Lightspeed are the preferred provider at my complex, and Im still waiting - starig at a fibre strand outside my flat with sad eyes.
