Past couple of days I've been struggling to get on their website. It works, then it doesn't. Then it works. Then it doesn't. Kind of frustrating when you're having to log support issues on a daily basis almost because their services don't work as advertised.

This is while using their own ADSL network. Ping time is about 28ms average.

Anyone seeing these problems? Tested this from JHB and CPT and on one of my UK servers with multiple browsers.

Their excuse must be "tooo many mybroadband users on their website", and their shared server cant handle the stress of the frustrated peeps who want to get the 30GB special.

I applied for the R199 for 30GB ADSL special offer, and have been trying to monitor the support tickets, account status etc, from the Client Zone, quite unsuccessfully, and rather frustratingly.

Their website has been performing quite poorly. It's up, then down with either time-outs or unexpected errors (code -2).

What's up with that? Too many users trying to apply for the 30GB account all at once?

Noticed the same thing (link working, site not)

Anyone know any more about the special? have they sold out already (I would guess that they have) I applied earlier today, Assuming too late tho...

Well if you applied successfully just sit back and wait....the trick was to apply for it...no use in BOMBING their servers to check your status.

makes sense now, hopefully i can get an account like that since they've been screwing with me all the month of Jan

...and their shared server cant handle the stress of the frustrated peeps who want to get the 30GB special.

I don't believe for a second they are running their main website from a shared server. Surely it is running on a dedicated server.

Maybe they must look into optimizing their website, with 155 HTTP Requests and a total size of 565KB it is bound to be slow:
http://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/?url=h...rder=1&filter=undefined&type=1&save=undefined

There is a total of 141 images on the main page. By using a CDN for the static content like images and css the load on the main server will be greatly reduced.

Hi Guys

There currently is a problem affecting both our homepage and our intranet.

Our engineers are investigating the matter to try and resolve the problem.

I will update this thread as soon as I have more info.

Thank you.

Hi Guys

The issue has now been resolved and the our site should be back online.

The engineers will continue to monitor the problem.

Thank you.

Thats a bit strange, I have had no problems connecting to any part of their site for the last few days. Maybe I am just lucky with timing, but its been totally fine from my side...
