I don't think it's related to lack of IPC capacity.
Or that the upstream provider has some sort of shaping protocol in place to limit international traffic.

Gaming traffic takes such a tiny piece of the pie.
Would be cool if you knew someone connected to the same exchange though.

At least then you could pinpoint your exchange as the root cause.

@Ulq, your line stats look quite good.
Sadly the only thing to do is wait a month till ISPs upgrade their networks. It is quite terrible that they all go out the window at the same time.

getting a new router tomorrow to test it on. Will post what i find.

Edit: Just did a port reset with telkom, still same problem. Tested it on Web Africa uncapped, Crystal Web/Afrihost/Axxess Capped accounts, doesn't matter what time of day the ping jumps from 400-2k.

Still waiting on a new router to test.

Insane amounts of packet loss. My games sitting at avg of 800+ping. No idea what to do, been like this for more than a week.

I'm on Webafrica, 10MB uncapped. My only issue I had, was lag-spikes when playing Dota 2.
1st time it happened, port was reset.
2nd time I'm not sure what was done, but I never got it again.

Prior to that, i had line issues as well. So I requested webafrica raise a ticket with Telkom to have me moved to a different port on the exchange and they moved me. I'm not sure about availability on your exchange, maybe that might help?

What game is it you playing online? Console? Pc? (If you already mentioned this then sorry, I must've missed it somewhere).
Are you using new cables from your router to your pc/console? No line noises?

I'm playing mostly Guild Wars 2. I did a port reset. And Telkom is currently helping me with sorting the problem. I didn't know you could be moved to a different port. Thanks for the info ^^
