Web Africa's new ADSL pricing revealed

In that case i'm thinking the 100 x 30 gig accounts were released in an effort to quieten the loudest voices in the mybb community.

That's a pretty poor effort. I hope the people who were "loyal" to WA and waiting for price cuts jump ship.

Not because I have anything against WA, but because competition needs to be encouraged. I was very happy with WA, but the current prices just aren't in line with competitors. Their support might be wonderful, but I don't need support. I haven't had a single interaction with Afrihost since I signed up with them because the service just works. I don't really see the value in paying double for support.

Can anyone enlighten me? If you're a WA subscriber, please explain why - I don't get how people can stick with them. I might Change my mind once their steam content servers are up.

Tagg says that they their aim is not to compete on price alone, but also ensure that they provide their subscribers with excellent quality of service and the high support levels they have become known for
That sounds a lot like what Telkom have been saying for years. Sorry WA, we're not moving from Afrihost just yet. Put 5 Bob and try again.

lol i feel so let down, and to think i was waiting a few weeks for this announcement, i kinda feel like i've got egg on my face.

Damn! I was really hoping WA would at least match the R4.33 per GB pricing of the IS 30GB local accounts. R13.25 per Gb does not even come close! :(

I am sure this thread must be a joke, are webafrica really paying you guys to advertise more expensive offerings? Really odd.

WA really are a bunch of fools. You really think that current subscribers are going to be pleased with that and stay withyou? And that those idiotic prices will garner you new customers? No, to both. Omw, absolutely idiotic!

Is this some kind of a joke?

I did warn you last week Gary - but you, and many others kept on defending them.
WA has an identity crisis and think they are superior. The prices are not competitive and they now have even bigger margins because they are not dependant on SAIX anymore, having changed to 'n 1-StTier provider.

WTF Web Africa :( I thought your bandwidth would be between R13-20 a GB!

I was so exited for this announcement but now I am just shocked :(
