NB the word "value". They didn't say pricing

Hi Guys

Firstly I know a lot of people are disappointed. But I don't think this is a joke at all we are being very agressive on complete pricing.

The other thing is we wanted to combine the two phases of reductions which would have been more dramatic but operationally there is not enough time to get the systems in place to support the new features.

Has the industry magically changed overnight? No. What about everyone else? Telkom, Mweb, Cybersmart, Axxess etc. Yes Afrhiost have a great special, but it's simply that, a special marketed below cost.

The problem is that most MyBB users have zero interest in complete pricing. Personally I didn't even look at it because I'm not moving my line. Afrihost isn't the only ISP offering R29/gb.

I think WA would have been better off launching cheaper prepaid / the rumoured "innovative products" to get people excited about their offerings again. The trial generated so much buzz and enthusiasm about the new network, but WA has failed to capitalise on that excitement.

It's laughable actually. As I work with the 100GB DSL Groups each day, their hosting tools etc. All I can say is this is like a big slobbery gob in the face of the customer.

Oh please. A whole 10GB extra for our 100GB package at the same price? Seriously?

I am going to make it my highest priority to stick my fingers out to move us to another provider. YOU GUYS ARE :(

WOW I waited this long for THESE prices? A ONE RAND decrease in prepaid!? hahahaha this is just sad. I'm gonna cry in a corner

I wonder MATT if you ever looked at Afrihost website recently."If you sign up while the special is running your R29/GB is locked in FOREVER"

Make all the excuses in the world, and I am sure there are those that are foolish enough to listen to you, but not the MYBB community.

Funny, have you been sleeping a few months? Did you not notice SAINET, GConnect (and others) offering the same pricing as Afrihost? And if it was a below cost marketed special, how can they sustain such a business model (from your perspective, business models is very important huh?) for such a long period of time? No comments on that?

Your response is mediocre to say the least. Now go and leave the ISP business so the real movers and shakers can profit from what the public wants and needs.... we don't need you anymore

Matt I'm sure most people didn't expect you guys to match Afrihost's pricing on a permanent basis, but at the very least expected much lower per gig prices (note, not complete packages). I mean we were all lead to believe that the announcement would be innovative.

Also if we're going to bring guys like Axxess into the discussion, then what alternative does WA offer to their uncapped package, which runs at full line speed after hours? To me, that seems pretty innovative, and hardly received the same amount of press time that WA did.

Exactly. Cheers to WA! Bye bye! Echoes..............bye...........bye...............bye!

I am a WA subscriber and and I feel ripped off now.
I have been waiting for this Big Announcement for a while now and am very disappointed
This leaves me no option but to change to another ISP
I did phone and tell them I was thinking of changng and they said wait for the Big Anouncement on Feb 15th
If this is the best they can do then its time to say goodbye WA

It sounds like they did make assurances to people that prices would be coming down, so it looks like they've seriously dropped the ball for a lot of people. I still think you're crazy to have stuck with them despite their high prices.

Damn :/ I thought they were on their own IP network now and we were going to see some groundbreaking prices? Ok yes, better value and pricing than before... but is the whole shift and hype worth these 10% changes? Somehow I don't think so! Very disappointing... still a differentiation between Unshaped and Shaped with unshaped still costing a fortune.. sigh when do we leave stone age? :/

I'm not crazy! My mom had me tested... but now... I think I have to perhaps get her to reconsider and get a second opinion

I was hoping for a package which just gives access to the news server. Why do you think everyone was involved in all the testing. Did no one even listen to our suggestions???

Time to look elsewhere!

Webafrica is quickly becoming the isp of the ignorant.

Help your friends and family by moving them to afrihost.

A special that seems to be continuing on well past it's first month :)

And a special that will continue for me as long as I remain a subscriber.

And a special that is still attracting new sign-ups... a lot more new sign-ups today for some reason! :p

Afrihost FTW!!!! :D

Yea, I was actually thinking about that right now. We spend copious amounts of our times LISTING suggestion after suggestion hoping these idiots would actually listen to the public's opinion....
