well if this works then GWI should offer wrt's with flashed software cause the other stuff they supply costs twice as much
Well i am not clued up on the techincal aspect of PPPoE
but any info such as the software your radius server is runnig, any funny kind of auth settings, i really dont know, but may find the info helpfull when i'm trying to setup a pppoe package on the wrt's
You are not obliged to buy the Senao kit we supply, but it is the best as far as wireless stability goes - therefore, this is the only product we support as GWI.well if this works then GWI should offer wrt's with flashed software cause the other stuff they supply costs twice as much
Telskommels Marconi ADSL modem routers (R799!) can manage the PPOE connection for you (AFAIK).
If you are talking about the Premium Combo Marconi, then it is actually R999, and it cannot do PPPoE over wireless - only through the ADSL port.
These routers are not good quality; and frequently hang, drop their PPPoE connection and just stop working for no apparent reason; requiring regular rebooting.
Even at R799, which is more than the Linksys, you still need an antenna, weatherproof enclosure, pole & bracket... The antenna alone can cost anywhere from R350 - R700...
it starts to crawl at like 5k a second.
is the TBC22 tower evern going to be converted to PPPOE, because it gives the best coverage for where i am
If anyone cares to submit their trouble ticket numbers here as proof of submission, I'll be glad to take up your issues personally.Support is pathetic - no trouble tickets answered
oh well, i'm going to cancel anyway.
had enough
congestion - IS backbone ect ect
Why is it that the GWI response time (here on the Nedbank Tower Segment 1 in Scottsville PMB) goes to Hell In A Handbasket most (not always) nights between 7 - 10PM?
if i knew my customers were not happy - i'd kick into gear and do something productive and protect my image...make arrangements in the meantime
Ye well - i also did the 30 day cancellation notice .
On the whole, we believe most of our clients are happy most of the time - we're almost at our target, but it isn't always good enough for some.
i get average 15% packet loss - i can't stream local highveld without hickups - skype dies - certain mornings total offline service : authenticates ok - can't surf/ping/tracert jack.
packet loss to tower - 0
Strange because when I emailed support to ask coverage, I got support ticket and a reply about 1-2 das later....
