Web sQuad ISP - Feedback Thread #2

@websquadza Can you please give me an update to my problem? It's been long enough already and we still don't have any solution.

I’ve been keeping you up to date on the PM. Last answer at 6:40pm today and again now. As per my most recent response- Your PCAPs were sent late last week and more as requested, at the weekend, and we are still trying to a) see where the out of order packets issue starts and b) if we can replicate it. Your in game test results show 0.008% loss; this is more artefact and related to packet processing than actual dropped packets. This is why we asked for PCAPs. We have every intention of resolving this- however this is not a common and easily diagnosable issue. We appreciate your patience so far.
 
Seems like time too look for a new isp as Tiaan swart from the helpdesk said he will update me today and still nothing has been added to my ticket. Just want to know he didn't update my ticket?

@websquadza since upgrading to 1000/200 my load times and general browsing seems much worse?

For instance Youtube I now have to refresh the page a couple of times before it loads. (Tried different browsers / incognito same thing.)

Even MyBB is sluggish. Almost 5 seconds to load MyBB.

Not sure if related, but I just came to ask if anyone was having issues with YouTube/Google services? I haven't done much diagnosis, just been noticing it over the last couple days.

Sounds about right - lets see what websquad advises.
Has been the last few days, I attributed it to the upgrade but could be coincidental timing wise.

Not WebSQ, but having similar issue think its the below for MyBB, and with CF reach probably a lot of the other sites

CPT also b een rerouted so not sure where traffic going through
CloudFlare staus
Scheduled - We will be performing scheduled maintenance in JNB (Johannesburg) datacenter between 2023-07-19 11:00 and 2023-07-20 07:00 UTC. Traffic might be re-routed from this location, hence there is a possibility of a slight increase in latency during this maintenance window for end-users in the affected region. For PNI / CNI customers connecting with us in this location, please make sure you are expecting this traffic to fail over elsewhere during this maintenance window as network interfaces in this datacentre may become temporarily unavailable.

Openserve has just lit their overhead fibre service in the area and I would like to swap. I have ordered an installation on openserve.co.za and selected Websquad as my preferred ISP as I am already with you.

I had a ticket recently which included a request for information on this, but it was closed when the other issue it included was resolved.

What are the implications of this move should I proceed?

These moves are typically very easy to do. I would suggest reaching out to our team with a new ticket requesting this move. Ordering on the Openserve portal doesn't move anything further, it would be better to get our sales team to assist. In general, they will alert you to the fact that we need to wait out the typical calendar month cancellation with Octotel, and then schedule an install to minimsie the overlap of services. Openserve installs are free, so you won't have any other costs. Once openserve is installed, you may need updated PPPOE credentials (as we have specific realms on OS), but the team will confirm this for you.

We have noticed some work being done by both Google and Cloudflare at their local POPs (which would affect both these services including sites served by Cloudflare). Both of these giants are locally peered; and we have peering with both at all the points at which they are present. We do have an open ticket with Google, however their NOC's support process is a bit of nightmare.
 
Amy known issues on vumatel? Connection died a few mins ago and router not seemingly able to get an ip
 
Like reported a few days ago by other people, I'm still having the youtube issue, having to reload pages a few times before videos play. 500/250.

Dropping you a PM with some tests requested by Google. Our GGC was back online Friday morning; but we withdrew it again later on Friday. We've been back and forth with Google on the GGC as well as now the peering side issues.
These tests are a bit laborious, but they are not responding without these. And we need them from affected clients; so in advance, thank you.
