Web sQuad ISP - Feedback Thread #2

Just fired up Warp and get 480Mbps on fast.com and Netflix now works perfectly on my pc. But obviously I can't install warp on all my devices.

I have it on my iPhone , but I suspect it’s for a limited amount of data

Internet is rubbish tonight. Can’t stream anything on 1000/500 Vuma Aerial.

Absolutely horrendous. Worst it’s ever been.

Please advise what is going on and when I can expect a resolution?

Evening all, our team is investigating currently. Some changes have been made - please confirm if the issue still persists?

Our team has picked up something very weird, hop 5 is Investec. They should not be in a traceroute to a Netflix IP. Please allow a few minutes for us to investigate this further

Update, we're still working on this issue, our routing tables are clear, so the traceroute is returning an IP it's learning on a return path. Team is working on some steering to resolve.

Update: We've pushed affected prefixes to one of our caches in Cape Town, please restart your netflix app or reload browser and you should pick up content from a reliable cache. Our team is still working on the JHB side issue.

And this is why I advocate for you guys!

Transparency, competency and not just call Center script readers

If this was vodacom, they would take 2 days straight off the bat, trying to log into your hauwueieii supplied crap router, and then another 6-8 weeks to stumble across a fix

How's fast.com looking for you now?

Absolutely rubbish…

JHB Netflix update:

We have picked up that all our direct Netflix peering sessions are down (from Netflix's end, IPv4 sessions only, v6 are up). We have logged a ticket with Netflix to resolve this. This means that Netflix sees certain prefixes at least 1 AS hop from our network. It seems there is at least one peer at NAP leaking our prefixes onwards to Netflix as well, with insufficient capacity to do so, which is largely why these issues are presenting - However Netflix have no looking glass or insight into what they are learning and where, so it is very difficult to see who this peer is.

We have made some changes and offloaded JHB prefixes to CPT caches, in addition prepended paths to one or two peers we believe may be culprits (and I am seeing an improvement on my netflix stream, but not fast.com), but we do need a response from Netflix's team to diagnose the exact cause. Our teams will continue to try reach out to Netflix for a) our peering sessions and b) to see which peer is leaking our routes.

i've tried this morning, and gosh, feels like dial up days

Will wait for a fix

Absolutely shocking. Can’t handle this.
We've isolated the issue to a specific peer this morning. Please can you check again.

Please note that we're still waiting on Netflix to assist from their end with the sessions that are down and provide more feedback, their response has been useless, so we are working with limited information, thanks for your patience here.

Yeah everything feels sluggish. Apple Music very slow. And trying to reach my servers in JHB (from JHB) on Seacom is routing through the Netherlands.
