Youtube experienced a major outage, seems services have almost fully restored. We saw massive dips in traffic across both peering traffic from Google as well as on our GGCs.

Parklands and Bryanston Master Nodes cover all trenched traffic south of the M1, so Parktown North through Parkhurst, Greenside, Linden on to Weltervreden, Randburg, Blairgowrie, Olivedale onwards to Paulshof, Bryanston, Lone Hill, Paulshof etc (and everything in between).

Update: Reports as far as Germiston coming in, so seems more widespread and includes more of the trenched network. GPON services unaffected.

Vuma JHB Update: We're seeing services restore

Update: Vuma confirmed this was planned maintenance on their JHB VX / Trenched Network. Doesn’t seem to have been shared with ISPs.

There are reports of multiple submarine cable outages in the Red Sea - causing disruption for traffic to the Middle East and Asia. With direct path to Asia already affected by End of Life of SAFE, please keep in mind that traffic towards Asia may experience elevated latencies, and possible degraded service. It’s already confirmed that Microsoft traffic is affected, we’ll likely see more over the next few days.

Had that issue during the SA v ABs game in the morning - its settled somewhat now though - MotoGP and Womens RWC playing ok

You have a custom DNS or using the one we issue? Akamai is painfully sensitive to unicast DNS (the actual ip of the server you're requesting DNS from)

I'm using 208.67.220.200 and quad9 for ipv4 - whats the one you hand out? I am using the default on IPV6 though
 
Seems like there’s a Vuma issue in my area. My internet is dead, so are a lot of other neighbours on various ISP’s.
