Web sQuad ISP - Feedback Thread #2

@websquadza hi, please, ongoing now for months. I know it's back and forth with NTT, but for the past week, I believe we're waiting for info from your team?
Some feedback on this one

it seems we have two problem prefixes:
Vodafone (/19) and NTT (/12)

Now for some reason, both are advertising their prefixes to our upstreams in Frankfurt via De-CIX and New York, but not London. Add to that the fact that upstreams in Lisbon (other end of Equiano) have direct peering to Frankfurt, we see where the hairpin happens.

The NTT allocation seems to be an EU assignment used in multiple countries, advertised as a single /12 (which is huge) and making selecting London as an entry point a potential issue.

We've logged tickets with our upstreams to see if they can try pick these up in London.

Thanks for the info, appreciate it. it sounds like it could potentially impact a lot more of your EU traffic? Am I the only one effected that you know of so far?

Sweet, thanks for the clarification.
I'd like to keep the order on 250 Mbps (now 500 Mbps).
erm, sorry to bother @websquadza , I see that my order doesn't even show up in my clientarea, does it still exist on your side as well as on evotel's side?

Thanks for reaching out.

It seems your service is still active with your previous ISP. Our team has pushed back here.

Your new order is on your profile, as an order. it's only loaded as a service once we receive confirmation it's up FNO side. That portion is manual and handled by our accounts team.

Seems like my line has been cancelled by my previous ISP nowafter a cancellation that never happened and they said that it should be released immediately, hopefully downtime is minimal when switching.

edit: something is a miss with PPPoE credentials, on my router I get a "No PPPoE server found" and trying to setup a dial up pppoe connection while directly connected to the ONT just fails

My service is active according to both parties (Evotel and WS) but nothing, even my client area doesn't show the service

edit 2: finally online, whew

@websquadza down again. any ideas?

edit: VT trenched, Randburg
back up

was there an outage?
Howdy, apologies for the delay here, was out of action these past few days. There was an outage here on Vuma's side. Seems to be common in the area - our offices have a link on the same POP as you I believe and we see that link dropping occasionally. We can't see a common thread between recent outages yet, but we are keeping an eye on this.

Glad to hear you're finally online. Apologies for the back and forth on this one. Welcome back! let us know if we can assist in any way!

@websquadza Hi, I just want to make sure if everything is going as planned. I will be cut off from the Openserve fibre next Saturday, the 21st. The plan is to be on Frogfoot before then. However, I haven’t heard anything from Frogfoot yet. There is a ticket regarding the order: #262217.

Can you maybe look into whether everything is going as planned?

Great to be back.

Also, my dashboard is still empty and haven't received an invoice yet.
Been wondering what was happening

Anyone else just lose Internet? Down for about 5 mins now Vuma Randpark
Finally came back on 7 hours later
Nothing published on Vuma's event log, but that timeline sounds like some sort of maintenance.

Edit: Our guys picked up that the switch you connected to only has about 3H45 uptime, so either it locked up or was down for maintenance.

Code:
SYSTEM: HUAWEI S5700-28X-LI-24S-AC Routing Switch uptime is 0 week, 0 day, 3 hours, 44 minutes

Thanks but we've gone down again, seems to be affecting Vuma in Randpark/Fpunteinblou area

@websquadza can you please help me out? Yesterday frogfoot installed a fiber connection to my house with an ONT device. On the ONT device all the lights are green including the service and ethernet light. The WAN light on my router is also green. I filled in the the FrogFoot PPoE details. What can I do to get the connection working? There is a ticket open at the moment #262217

Afternoon, I see your session came up yesterday morning. A few gremlins in the provisioning there. Glad it's all sorted.

Am assuming we should expect price increases to come up in the next few weeks?
