@websquadza do you have any transit going over WACS or any other of the west coast cables or does all traffic from CPT transit through JHB and east coast?
Any plans on peering with Amazon in CPT?

Basically trying to understand what latency to Europe/US I would be looking at if I switch over from CISP.

We're running off WACS out of CT at the moment, CPT has it's own transit with additional advertisement through JHB. We're connected to and peered with Amazon in both regions. Microsoft too if you're looking at Azure traffic. We aren't pushing any traffic over SACS at the moment, this will become available to us via a new transit partner soon, but we're going to test thoroughly to see if it offers any real advantage or still needs to mature. Let me know if I can give you any more info?

@websquadza thanks I was checking latency and traceroutes from Europe (both AWS in UK and non-AWS in NL) to speedtest.cpt.websquad.co.za and both seems to go via JHB so that seems quite surprising?
Or does that subnet gets advertised differently than user subnets in CPT?

For example pings were around 160ms, where I expect it to be <150ms when running over WACS both ways?

Thanks for this. Ran this past our network team and they're investigating. Will revert with some feedback asap.

Still no internet at my place. Order was shelved for some reason.

Edit : Seems SuperSonic forced themselves onto my profile. :| Do they need to release the line or what needs to happen now?

They’ve somehow taken over your active service. We’ve escalated this at Vumatel as this is meant to be impossible.
