And the websquad lite is to 200mbps so how are you getting close to 400mbps on a London speed test?

  • No limits on data volume (you can download as much as you like)
  • Web traffic, streaming services, gaming will not experience any throttling or shaping of any kind
  • only P2P traffic (torrents, news servers and similar) traffic will be limited to 200 Mbps
  • International traffic (excluding traffic from CDNs and locally peered networks including, but not limited to: Google, Facebook, Microsoft, Amazon, Fastly, Limelight, Akamai, Cloudflare, HE, Valve (Steam), Apple and more - this list is continually expanding) will be limited to 200 Mbps.

Mmmm, I'm confused. So http file download will come down at max line speed? Local and international?

How is speedtest.net classified? Web traffic?

What about a seedbox? Web traffic too?

My torrent ran well over 200Mbit, I think the FUP is there for legal reasons to protect against abuse but for the most part if they have capacity to spare, things will burst above 200Mbit... I could be wrong.

This the torrent you referring to? Private or public?

Private torrent, but that is a bit irrelevant as it uses the standard BitTorrent protocol.
It's relevant in that a public torrent might bottom out at around 20MB/s, where a private torrent would have the legs to run much faster.

Could you run these simultaneously and test please?

I ended up uploading more than I'm downloading on these public torrents... shocking how back they are.

Interesting cause my uTorrent is set to upload at 25KB/s, using public torrents I'm under no obligation to seed copious amounts of data. On those ubuntu torrents I can get a consistent 30MB/s down... A couple of weeks ago they were coming down at 40MB/s.... but torrents generally are quite finicky so not the most accurate medium for testing one's line performance.

Have you played around with your connection settings? On the torrent client? I'm sure it could do with some tweaking given the nature of the line speed...

Post a screenshot of this please, I will retest using a performance tuned version of Deluge.
