Like seriously this is NOT ok. This comes and goes ALL day.
I have been exceedingly nice on this, what is going on!?

@websquadza

Working on this right now. We're seeing similar loss out of our second route reflector as we did yesterday. However, we can't take this one offline until the 1st one is rebuilt - which we're working on at the moment. Thanks for your patience, we should be able to switch back to the first route reflector later this evening or in the morning. We're working closely with vendors to figure this one out.

That 3rd hop is the Vumatel POP you connect to. It doesn't always respond to ping, so always shows loss - this does not mean you actually have packet loss, just your direct pings to that IP are not all responding. That said, an MTR doesn't show loss unless it carries all the way through to the end of the chain. So test 2 is 0% loss. Basically, you start reading loss from where it carries through to the end, which in both of the above (1 and 3) are well within the last few hops in Google's network.

We received a notice from Google that they will be running emergency maintenance on Google 1 and 3 (Remember, I told you we have 3 peerings with them) through the course of tonight.

I've just brought Google 2 back up and dropped 1 and 3 - check if you still see loss or issues loading Youtube?

With regards to Twitch, I'm streaming 720p60 and 936p no issues on a Mac (Ironically Youtube vids load in 4K instantly as well - but I think different CDN for me). I still think this is a TCP/MSS issue. RR1 had a rule that clamped IP Transit MSS, I see RR2 doesn't have that. We are almost done with the new RR1, running some tests now.

I am still experiencing poor connectivity issues to Ubisoft/Division 2 servers(Europe) as previously reported

@websquadza

Which fiber provider are you with and which area?

I've also been seeing some weirdness on my net, online gaming super weird for me at the moment (packet loss, higher ping than usual, lag spikes etc). Busy doing some investigating on my side with some pings and MTR's.

I'm on Vumatel (Old fibrehoods aka non-trenched) on a 200/200 package. In the Roodepoort (JHB) area.

I don't think it's Websquad though, most likely Vumatel. Will post my MTR's and pings in a bit.

EDIT:

Going to do the same tests via my VPN to the office (backbone is Vox Fibre) to do side by side comparisons.

I'm vumatel trenched 1Gb

Ok, I'm definitely getting some weirdness.

Did a ping to a EU server, 2000 iterations, 5% packet loss.

Check the MTR stats:
WinMTR.png

There is 100% something wrong at the moment.

My game is super erratic on latency and choppy as hell to play.

Browsing is all over the place.

@websquadza

Can we get some clarity because personally am getting VERY annoyed.
