I just logged on and did a wireshark and its a cluster f**k. There are windows PCs on the vlan as well as a Fritzbox sharing media. Then I see some funky stuff from eagle.co.zaAnd every ticket response: Everything seems fine
It looks like they have made the whole of Slaapstad into one big olde flat network.
Would explain the STP like outages. Probably a dozen devices acting as STP root, no priorities given - and fewer sh#ts given either, apparently. And the thing is.. this isn't rocket science.

Using a /23 with well over 250 IPs active and I don't see any type of path protection protocol!

Looks like they filtering the STP and using Arista kit.
I'm not surprised... The bigger question is how to ensure they understand the issue.
Extreme Networks kit on the access and core layer last I saw.. Arista handles this stuff just fine when well configured. Drop me a PM with the MAC addy of that Arista if you can, want to see if I can pick it up.
Unless they've started using Arista in access?

Damn. Just closed it but will start it again. There are actually two /23's on the same Arista MAC.
@websquadza Hello! With Vumatel's acquisition of SADV, is it correct to assume that "SADV" FNO users we can now access all ISPs that are available on Vumatel? Its not 100% clear on the limitations so hoping you might know?
You working on the routes at the moment @websquadza ? Got some massive packet loss in game just now and now it's timing out entirely.

Yeah this is becoming pretty frustrating, not the usual stability I'm used to.
Heavy packet loss to github.com making work near impossible right now.
Looks to have subsided for now though.

Upstream is still ironing out the kinks with bringing WACS back online. Please be patient while they make some adjustments. We are monitoring on this end.

International is completely dead
Our upstream are investigating. Traffic failed over to alternate routes right now.
To provide context from the RFO we received this morning on the WACS issue these past few days; the L2 provider who delivers capacity between Ysterfontein (where WACS lands) and Teraco Rondebosch experienced issues on this route. This was supposedly rectified this morning by 9am. However, another major WACS backed network went down shortly thereafter.
I see our team escalated to Vumatel. When it comes to maintenance, Vumatel are on the ball - you should get a call soon.

These past two weeks have been probably the worst fixed line connection I've had in 5+ years. Frequent drops in connection, high latency, packet loss. No one else I know have had any issues on their ISPs, and I've asked around.
You guys came through for me in a hurry so I'm not keen to jump ship, but this is getting super frustrating.
So what's plan here? When can we expect stability and are you working to improve redundancy in providers?
