For those with Mikrotik devices :)

Hi All, is there something up with Twitch ?

I'm struggling to stream twitch from other users feeds.

I am also attempting to create a Twitch stream, but it keeps saying my connection is poor 1.5K (wants me to use 480p)

Twitch is streaming normally for me. (instantly up to Source quality)

Can't comment on stream uploads, haven't tried it.

this may be a stupid question, but is it possible to have multiple public IP addresses ?

Few ideas floating around , around hosting a game server or two on pterodactyl, it’s iffy it you don’t have it on port 80, which is already set up for my nas
That was an issue a long time ago,host-header redirection was one of the first attempts to get past this
Now if your web services are TLS capable you can use SNI to route it using a unique domain name
Or you can stick either or both behind an NGinx reverse proxy with an alternative port binding, and call it a day

No issues on Twitch streaming. Able to load up 1080p60 in all regions. Could be FNO? Which FNO are you?

could be .. why my twitch also wonky...

unrelated - this is an Octotel issue in Blouberg. Unless you're on Octotel in Blouberg? And 500 Mbps to London is plenty to stream a 25 Mbps Twitch stream..

@websquadza Here are some of the results from today's speed tests:

No improvement to JHB. The Vox London one looks like that route is boned for some reason.

Thanks for the feedback. Back to the drawing board with Octotel L2. Will let them know and follow up once they say they've "fixed" something again. Hopefully they don't break something

In theory we can make anything happen ;) But this would require quite some work which I don't think we'll be able to float by on FTTH. Will look into it.

there are 7 open ports on that grey voioooooma box

It’s just a silly idea for myself and some friends, might be cheaper to just hire a vps and run it all from there :)

You could get a cheapie VPS and run a GRE tunnel from your gameserver to said VPS. In this case you wouldn't need to pay for a VPS with many resources, as it would just be running the tunnel.

Check out the Vox thread they having some issues with cable outages and that speedtest picks up your transit locally and uses their transit internationally.

I personally have 250ms 0.48 download and 0.00 upload to that server

What @CrypticZA said here. These on net international Speedtest servers for local networks abroad are typically transited by those networks’s transit capacity and handed to us via peering. So not a reflection of our transit to these destinations (we effectively see these IPs as "local"). Also some rate limit off net traffic to these servers for this reason.
