Thought you had an Asus gaming router?
I would just use the Asus again, isn't that thing a beast?I did, I had the ASUS RT88U, replaced that with the Edgerouter X.
What about firewall rules etc? Does the wizard do a setup on that as well or is that something I would need to google and spend hours trying to learn?
Alright then, which Mikrotik would you recommend. I’m not extremely fussy about price, don’t mind if it’s between 2k - 4K. I don’t need WiFi since I’m using Unifi AP’s around the house.

Make sure RD is set to cloudflare, sometimes it defaults back to international. It actually doesn’t even matter because it’s not my router causing my issues. If things were kak with Asus and things are still kak with Edgerouter X, then doesn’t seem like a router issue.

It sounds like Vuma Aerial suffers a lot from last mile issues. It should be the same price as Frogfoot and Octotel, definitely cheaper than trenched.I have RD open on my phone, I always check to see if it’s on Cloudflare. When it changes, I change it back to Cloudflare. But doesn’t make much of a difference. On a 1gig line I should be able to stream files bigger than 100gigs if I wanted. But I can’t. A friend with Vuma Aerial on Cell C, on a 1gig line with 200mb speeds coming from his box via WiFi streams better than me on my cabled device.
Truly pathetic.
What speed to you get if you download a torrent from the browser with a pc, no dl manager?I have RD open on my phone, I always check to see if it’s on Cloudflare. Have you tried enabling IPv6 on this box? We're keen to see if TP link has sorted out their v6 implementation issues.Replaced the tenda junk with a tp-link ac1900.
Should be better.
At least my packet loss is gone.
I haven't. Would be happy to test this. Tell me what I need to do?Have you tried enabling IPv6 on this box? We're keen to see if TP link has sorted out their v6 implementation issues.

Any issues on vuma aerial CPT Southern Suburbs getting erratic packet loss can't trace on Xbox series x![]()
The default rules pulled in by the box are pretty rock solid. The Quickset wizard takes care of everything for you. Our recommendation is to boot up a vanilla box, enable IPv6, upgrade software and firmware to the latest, then reset to factory defaults again. This will get the best default configs on the box. Use quickset to set up PPP and you're good to go. Also set up IPv6. Our team will be more than happy to assist.
Mikrotik just handles TCP (specifically MSS) much better than the ERX.
Fair enough, I’m willing to try that. I just need to know which is the best Mikrotik to get. Don’t want some cheapy. Happy to spend more for a better router. Was originally planning to upgrade the Edgerouter to a more powerful one but since there’s an easy way to set up Mikrotik, I’m happy to give it a chance.
I’v actually wanted to try Mikrotik, but as per my pm, I’m not in the IT field and my experience is extremely limited compared to majority of users here so my fear was the steep learning curve which again as per my pm, I just simply don’t have the time for that.
See, I can be very accommodating. And I’m willing to try, and even spend more money. But I also do expect Websquad to resolve should this not work. I simply cannot live like this @websquadza.
Will try on laptopLooks like Fortnite, which should be AWS, so handed over locally. Any chance you can get me an MTR from a PC to 1.1.1.1? Just want to check the last mile for any obvious loss.
