Web Squad ISP

To be honest, Websquad has been proper toilet for me for a while, worse than Cool Ideas ever was. My friends Cell C fibre line outperforms this rubbish. I’v been doing my best keeping quiet and trying to resolve via dm, but it looks like I either just get ignored or a long winded explanation with lots of big mambo jumbo words that make zero sense to me meanwhile I don’t give a rats arse. I just want it fixed.

So time to move on. Where to next, back to Cool Ideas, Cell C or what else is there. Pretty much every ISP sucks based on the feedback threads.
Starlink

Decided to finally set up pfSense again last night but then found out the box I am using can only route traffic at 600Mbps max. Back to the USG then I guess for now.

Sweet, finally got the Mikrotik RB4011 delivered today. Now it’s currently a paperweight since I have no idea what to do with it, HAHA!

Plug it in silly :)

WAN is normally Ether1 so plug that into your ONT. If it's anything like the 3011 then the other ports will be bridged so you should be able to plug into any of the other ports. If not plug your PC into them 1 by 1 until you have a connection.

I believe so.
That or a USG / edgerouter x with a few disabled features or hardware offload. Most optimal setup I have seen is RB4011 to two Ubiquiti AP's, thing can easily push near gigabit speeds. But starting to see a few new options for 1.25G sfp routers, just a pitty most ONT's require specific vlan settings so you can't just connect it directly on some FNO's.

Area and FNO would help

FWIW, local WA group is ablaze with people also being disconnected.
Wasn't looking to get support (I've called in). Was more prompting to see if anyone else is experiencing issues.

But, North Riding - Vuma trenched.

Edit: Removed my grumpy statements

What is a bit frustrating is that WebSquad support said its a Vuma issue - the rest of my complex is online... and now another person is saying Evotel in North Riding? Sounds like I was lied to...

Woah there tonto... lie is such a strong word.

Reading through now.. people on my WA group seems to be from various ISPs and mostly vuma

Yes, I retract my statement. It is incredibly odd that I am impacted as a single unit in my complex....

Vuma have communicated that they experienced a Logical Failure affecting both GOPN and AE networks in JHB between 08:40 and 09:12 this morning. Services are fully restored now. They are investigating the cause of the outage, will communicate once they let us know.
