WebAfrica Capped ADSL

Hi Garyvdh,

Has our ADSL team been alerted to the issue yet? If not drop me a PM so I can get them to assist.

No not yet, because it comes and it goes. One day it works, the next it gives problems and I switch over to my other account, then I get working again and I forget about it.
But soon my spare account is going to run out of cap. :(

It was working today at our offices.
Will check tomorrow again.

Hi Garyvdh,

Your issue is probably related to the Telkom migration issue I referred to here.

Please PM me the test results and I will get our team to assist.

I've tried Live Chat several times and left messages without receiving feedback.

Would someone be so kind to reply to my question please.

Is the "anytime" data basically for 06:00 - 00:00 use and then the midnight data takes over from 00:00 - 06:00 and then "anytime" data kicks in again?

Or

does the midnight only kick in once all "anytime" has been depleted? Almost like some cellphone contracts?

The former.

Aren't you a CW fanboi?
Not sure if fanboi would describe me, but yes, I was verry happy with CW.

Unfortunately http
downloads are being shaped since the beginning of February and that is a big deal breaker for me.

CW are looking to implement some changes to improve it, but I'm looking around as I have to make a decision before the 19th.

This I can tell you. WA support can take more than a couple of tips from CW. WA is severely lacking in that department.

So you considering a capped account? What's your line speed and how much data you using per month?

I use in the region of 230GB.
My problem is that I have an active Network - 2 x PS4, 2 X PS3, several, pc's, laptops, tablets and cellphones.
I will probably have to go for the 450GB, just to try and balance the possible day time usage.

Yeah, the after hours allocation of data make their capped packages exceptionally good value for money!

These were torrents this morning, 10mb line...

Where do I find my password?
I've upgraded to a small business account just to test with and it is running like a bullet train.
I would like to enter the details in the router, but for the life of me can't find my password?
I'm connecting from desktop atm, but can't recall/find the password.
I can log into the Clientzone, but don't really want to reset the password, unless that is the only solution.

It shows your current username/password when you click change password.

How good/bad/accurate are the change over from Anytime data to the midnight data?
Can I schedule downloads for 00:10 and expect it to be deducted from the midnight data?

Yes - that's exactly what I do.

It is very accurate. My downloads is scheduled to start at 0:01 and end at 05:59 and no use of anytime data.

Just make sure your computer time is accurate too.

Good to hear.

Thx for all the feedback and help.
I appreciate it.

Hi Guys

I am planning on going for one of these Capped account, had a call from Telkom today saying that our exchange has been recently upgraded and they can finally offer 10MB in our area. How do you guys find these Capped accounts? 10MB uncapped accounts does not make sense for the amount I download / stream which is about 70GB - 110GB a month not much more than that.

I am currently on another ISP that also uses the IS backbone and don't have any major issues with IS, so in theory should be smooth sailing here as well.

Also if you sign up in the middle to later part of the month are there any pro rata billing or should I rather sign up for this closer to actual month end.
