I am in Johannesburg, supposedly now back to normal.
Testing with NNTP during DL+ hours: I get one (maybe two) downloads at close to full speed, thereafter each file is downloaded at progressively slower speeds. Last night ended with an average speed of around 700KB, though it has been slower in the past week.
Three or so months back - when I first changed to 20Mb VDSL - each file came down at 2.2/2.3 MB.
OTOH Afrihost gives me a solid 2.3MB.
What I find really p*ssing is the fact that WA's executives - who should be saying something - are conspicuous by their absence, leaving their support staff - who have no real authority - to shoulder the blame.
Do WA have an active CEO any more ????
RPM perhaps it is time for an investigative article ?
My internet has also been crawling since last night. Today I am barely getting 1MB on my 10 MB line.
By soon do you mean days or weeks? However, we're waiting on Telkom's network upgrades to be completed and that's going to be happening very, very soon.
Capped lines should get maximum download speed at all times right? Or is that not true?
This is carbon copy of the situation that made me leave Afrihost!

So happy I put in my cancellation request last month. Come July 1st and I'm out like apartheid.
Really getting crappy speeds here. Can't even play SD YouTube videos without getting buffered...on a 10mb line for crying out loud...
