How's Web Africa's capped accounts for gaming (CSGO, Dota, Diablo3).... I see that there are some complaints about speeds when it comes to downloading, I'm not a heavy down loader, so not to concerned about this...my main priority will be gaming, wanted to go with Afrishost, but then I read a lot of complaints about high pings and CSGO over there, so not sure which ISP to opt for

I am on business uncapped and I currently get 200ms ping spikes to cs go servers and slow downs in youtube and web browsing. International gaming so far has minor lag spikes but I have dc'ed a lot recently to sc2 servers so no point to even trying to play with WA.

Afrihost is k@k there is no way around it... it constantly has 2% packet loss to cs go servers. Don't want to hit anything? afrihost is your choice and don't think this will get fixed any time soon.... they think packetloss to game servers (aka lagging, stuttering and no hit detection bs ) is tottally fine.

I am now on a trail account of mweb... you can get it for a week and it is really working well for cs go as they host their servers

Steering clear of WA then too, will check out MWEB, thanks for the reply

Hi,

We had issues with our network and our upstream service provider has now alleviated the congestion issue that affected our network in the Gauteng region and now they're working on fixing Cape Town. So if you're in Gauteng - I'd recommend you to try our 2GB free account, that's if you don't have one already, and see if your ping will spike.

I've been a loyal WA customer for the last 5 years, but I gotta say, I think it's time for me to move on too. 10mbps capped account at home, streaming on youtube can't do 360p without buffering. Connect Afrihost account, 720p without a stutter. It's been like this for about 2 weeks now. Yesterday I had to download a Xcode update of 2.6GB at work (40mbps). Using WA account estimated download time was at 2 hours. Connected my personal AH account and it finished in 17 minutes.

Webafrica, its time to come clean. Is there a problem or not? If there isn't a problem, I guess I should assume that this is just the new norm and I will be moving on. If there is a problem, what is your expected timeframe to fix it?

Hi recre8,

Our upstream service provider has alleviated the congestion issue in the Gauteng region so far and they're still working to fix this problem in the Western Cape region as well. But please PM me your account details so I can investigate this issue. We're really sorry for the frustration this is causing you.

Dear WA, your smtp (wnls-smtp9.wa.co.za) has been blacklisted by AT&T..... FYI

Morning HunterGR,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention, I've passed this information to our guys to attend.
