Hi all just got webafrica lte today and dont know how to feel about the speed... I am getting around 10mbps on speed test download and like maybe 1mbps upload. Is this okay? Is there anything i can do to increase this. My signal jumps between 1 and 2. I stay in morningside

Will this definitaly increase the speed? What can i expect? Also can you maybe send a link for an antena

schalu1993 , I would suggest that you call Rain or Mweb (they must tell you which direction is the closest tower to you)

So that you can maybe at first (before buying antennas) . Take your cellphone and Router on a round trip of your house.

Cellphone loaded with Speedtest application (or Ipad with speedtest app).

Then you take your Mweb/Rain modem and place it close to a window. <once in the window cill . Turn the modem 10degree's to the left. Run a speedtest. Move it another 10degrees to the left. Run a speedtest>

That way you can check if the speed goes up or down.

IF the one corner gives bad speeds.. Move on to another area in the house.
Repeat steps above. Placing it. Then run Speedtest. Move 10degrees to left until you've done a 360degree's.

Move on to new area...

Sometimes elevation also helps. (seeing as the signal can go through a roof easier than a wall. The signal can go through ceiling and roof on higher elevation direct to tower with fairly good signal. VS through 3 walls and some wood etc.. and poor signal)

Moved it closer to window and followed your steps thanks so much. Much better now

yip.. 20mbit sounds much better. (now you need to try the other windows..)

Could be that your tower is close to other side of house (pull out the extention lead...)

You could maybe (possibly) pull 30mbit or 40mbit if you find the sweetspot.
