Yup but with usenet, people will have a difficult time proving anything, seeing that one effectively downloads text files. With torrents on the other hand, there is the upload component which can be seen distribution. That's illegal.
I wonder if IS know what their Usenet server gets used for...
Im sure they know, but they wont close it down otherwise who will buy the 30gb local account then? I would say most sales of their local accounts goes towards downloading from the news server.

ADSL accounts sales are not IS's core business. They will still profit without it. They've only introduced local-only accounts recently due to request, they were managing fine before them.
