Weber Braaing

Why would you use that if you can just use proper wood

It's like the McDonald's patty version of wood.
It's more eco-friendly. Most wood sold around my place comes from an unsustainable source, and they're busy ruining the mountain because of it.

Try lamb chops on the Weber some time. Thick cut chops, HOT fire, sear the crap out of the chops and get the fat some colour. Then lemon juice (fresh), coarse salt and black pepper and move to cold side, slap on lid, all vents open and leave for 10 minutes.

My dude...
Haha I need to be more specific :)

I do alot of indirect cooking on the weber esp chicken, chops etc. Always end on the coals for a few min.

When ppl master a weber it is always amazing meat!

Jirre for that price you can get n bakkie vrag from somewhere where there's lots of wood.

Wow 6 pages deep, think I better change the title of the thread to “Weber Braaing"

There she blows... the Weber can handle it, don't worry (for those concerned about the heat)

Tonight I'll try cook/smoke ribs with the eco logs and see how it goes.

6 logs make enough coals to fill half a Weber, 7 to be sure.

Anyone else have one of these covers - https://www.takealot.com/weber-57cm-grill-cover-charcoal/PLID44766818

Ive got one on my Weber and its driving me mad, there is one velcro strap at the bottom to hold it down. When the wind blows it is absolutely useless as keeping it on.

And smart solutions short of whipping out my needle work kit and adding another velcro strap?

Yes and been using it for years with no problems, but my balcony is well protected from wind

Real men never use a Weber.
Kinda agree a bit here but a Weber can do things an open fire battles, like last night I made a perfect pizza in it

The main reason i have a Weber is because I am upstairs and in our complex open fires are forbidden. The bylaws even says Braaing on balconies is forbidden but we all outnumber the 1 vegan old lady that made that rule 30 years ago. Dead honest
