Weber Braaing

I'd prefer the regular one. I like having the option of hot and cold spots in the smoker. Same as in the Weber.

I totally disagree.
Indirect heat cooks somethings far better than any braai can.

If you want indirect - build and use a pizza oven - far more useful.

I had a Weber for a few years, now not had one for over 10 years, do not miss it at all. Pizza oven, decent stand braai, cast iron gas grill is all you need.

Or a Weber, at a fraction of the cost.

Try cooking a whole boar or baby piglet in a Weber? Or a decent pizza? Not going to happen mate..... Or a leg or lamb, chicken, roast veg and bread at the same time?

Also, unlike a Weber, none of the above rust...... my stand braai is high end stainless steel  !

You're right - two Webers at a fraction of the price, maybe even three.

EDIT - and yes, you can cook a decent pizza in a weber.

I dont judge

I use my Weber almost every night but would dig a standalone brick and mortar pizza oven if I had the space and was allowed to in the complex
Actually thinking of making a simple pizza oven down by the dam by my caravan

That thing is a maiming waiting to happen.

I'll build a pizza oven when I move but I'm not dropping that sort of money before then.

Besides, I've got my pit :)

I simply found that I no longer liked using charcoal - let alone briquettes. So my daily became a Weber Q series, which works like a bomb for grilling and roasting if needed. Weekends back to nice wood and an open fire if that is the choice of cooking method.

Horses for courses, depending on how much time you have available.

Love my Q.

FWIW a pizza stone in a Q will hit 350°c which is almost hot enough for greatness - it's still better than an oven though!

a buddy of mine bought a 2nd hand Q series and whenever I see him he is using it, even for breakfasts, he got a bargain for R800. I looked at new prices other day and choked on my beer
