Webmail's spam system depended on you manually (WHY?) creating a spam folder, iirc.

Works pretty well, but ran into trouble if you hit the inbox size limit :p

As for the size increase:
While 10GB is nice, I honestly don't need it, even 1GB would be more than enough for me. 20MB definitely no longer cuts it though.

The only limit that occasionally crept up on me is the limit on a single mail. I think gmail it used to be 20MB/mail, but they increased it recently. Very rare that I need to use it though.

One suggestion for webmail: Make your 'ad'-mail work properly! In thunderbird it doesn't show at all, just a bunch of html/css/whatever text.
 
Impressive stuff. I am a Gmail user, but I will keep an eye on the Webmail services and if it draws me in, well, then it draws me in. I love competition at work for consumers. I just hope one day we can be so lucky as to have a ministry of telecoms in South Africa with some brains that can bust open the bottled up potential of the ordinary people. Currently it is only the companies with big bucks who can move and shake (not even but ja) in a realm controlled by the demonic Telkom and it's ministerial approval.
 
So who's first for the test account?

rpm can send a mail to all myadsl users asking them to send 10-20MB of stuff to a certain webmail address as a test...? :)

I went to the site and just the homepage sent me running back to Gmail.
 
Hey guys, please post the pop3/smtp settings here. I get capped regularly, so accessing gmail is not an option once capped; gmail can forward recent emails to webmail; but hate the web interface...man, they must do something about the site...
 
last time i check webmail wasn't for me. might be ok after july

Unless I'm mistaken, Webmail is only web-based unlike, say, Gmail: you can only access it through their website, so there are no POP and SMTP settings which can be used through a normal e-mail client. Or have I got this wrong?
 
webmail setting

use mail.webmail.co.za for pop3;
use your ISP relay or smtp server for outgoing mail, or try mail.webmail.co.za with smtp authentication, set to use same username/pwd as incoming;

Ive been using it for years without any problems;

If you go throught th einstructions for setting up the spam system, it works pretty well; you have to 'train' it via the web interface tho; basically, to enable, you have to create a folder called 'SPAM', and then enable the antispam; thereafter, keep checking you spam folder via web interface and move legit stuff to inbox, it will 'learn' eventually;

For a free service, I give it 9/10
 
I have to add that the server does receive international emails like instantly. previously you waited like 20min for the email to show in your email inbox but now its instant. Thank god that's solved.

Thanks, I was wondering what the port numbers would be (and how would one set up Opera Mail client to pick up webmail pop3 and send emails.

I see now the new site. That 10GB is to save files like file storage and not just for emails. :-)
