i am looking for, a webscript that allows for sub sites to be created, this subsite must have a type of editing tool to allow people to edit it to there liking, limited of course, and all these sites must have then be indexed / serchable on the main site, does a scipt like this exist ?

There are many, many social networking scripts out there, for example:

I'm sure you can find a free/cheap one. Just google "social script" or similar.

one question with wordpress, if i decide to create a social networking site stuch as myspace for example, i charge people for joining, and if it gets big and i get bought out, is that type of thing legal with wordpress ?
