I have bought web space on bravenet. and want to start with my website. i have uploaded my html's twice already and now I have just deleted it.
here is my problem.
1. forum. I uploaded and setup phpBB forum. its pretty straight forward until it asks me for database information. after hours of trying, google searches and looking on the brave net web page I gave up. (im starting to think I made a mistake buying that web space
)
2. uploading a chat room ( now this drove me insane )
did google search for fee chats ( I want to host a server not just paste some java code on my webpage) i found a few. couple of java ( the developers basically said here take it and upload it. me standing whide eyed thinking what now) but I found a good one called ralfchat written in perl ( i think i was beta off with the java) but it was straight forward and well explained. but not well enough though cos they explain how to upload and make writes on it and how to edit some stuff. but i cant imbed it and cant link it properly. ( If I use the directory eg. wwww.mysite.com/chat/chat.cgi I get something that looks like it came out of the matrix )
can some one please help me.
I dont want to get some1 to develop my website cos then I dont know what is what and have to call him back all the time to make changes rather than me just changing it myself.
