Wedding Venue Suggestions

We are currently looking for a wedding venue. All the venues we have viewed thus far want us to use their catering service and we do not want to do that.

Any suggestions on venues that are self catering around Jhb?

That's because they make their money on the food and drinks.

You'll likely have more success trying to find someone that has a gamefarm or whatever vibe you're going for and asking if you can rent a piece of their land. Put up a tent and have it there.

Get a wedding planner they normally have a decent sized list of venues and can typically negotiate cheaper rates in winter. I think ours cost about 10k and was well worth it instead of finding venues and on the day she pulled everything together nicely.

Second piece of advice is your wedding day goes by so quickly so IMO its pointless spending a fortune on a venue rather spend money on food / drink and band and make sure people are having a great time. That is much more important that the venue.
