And another to add to the list --- vinegar (white spirit vinegar) also kills growth in paving. I use a 3:1 mix, but in bad places 1:1 and even neat (water: vinegar).Roundup - Expensive
Hydrocloric Acid (pool acid) - Relatively cheap but hazardous to work with
Swimming pool salt/ Coarse salt - Relatively cheap and effective option.
So I would go for the coarse salt option. Cheap and effective, but you will probably have to do it annually/ biannually to be sure.
Then wait a while, clear out the old broken grout and try and fill the cracks with better "stuff".
Clearall is another poison, but watch it -- it kills everything. And don't spray when the wind blows either.
