anyone else in the process of losing weight? maybe this will be a good place for support.

i've lost 5.8kg since the first of this month :)

i've restricted my calorie intake to 1200kcal during the week, but on friday and saturday i eat whatever i want, in moderation. it's worked well thus far.

Dude. or chick.

1200 Cal a day is significantly low.

You will definately be losing lbm in the process.

We have a MYBB fitocracy.com group - pm me with an email if you want an invite.

Ya... 1200 can't be healthy...

I'm on 2000 more than that.... granted... I don't loose weight much.

Well done!

5 Kg's in one month is rather rough on your body, but never less welcome to the “Belly off Club”.

Keep it up!

What is fitocracy?
I had a brief look at the site, if you could help me with a nutshell description I would appreciate it :)

thanks.

In one month, dude he has lost 5kg's in 9 days. Is that even physically possible?
lol maybe if you knew how much i currently weigh, you'd think it's possible. 179KG.

How do you gauge and monitor your intake?

Fitocracy is a social network - purely for fitness - it is basically a web based game - based purely on your own daily exercise -

It really is a great way to stay motivated..... and learn and do more :D

I lost 20KG last year from january to december, though i am standing still at the moment or moving down a few hundred grams every month.

I think i did it mostly by eating right and doing exercise.

It is physically possible. Most likely if the person is significantly overweight to start with, the loss then is mostly water, and not actual fat. (at best a combination of water, fat tissue as well as muscle and other important parts).

It is not healthy nor sustainable to lose weight at that rate.

The eating part is the hardest for me. Not binging or anything, but also not recording what I eat in terms of calorie intake.

I try to do the "100g yoghurt at 11am & naartjie at 4pm" thing, and generally have mushroom/chicken soup for supper. But I drink way too much coffee. I also don't have an appetite in the mornings, which I need to force myself into actually.

As far as exercise goes, generally gymming 4+ times a week, which has me starting off with a 20min run on the hamster wheel (cover about 3.5kms) then doing stretching/light weights etc. for the rest of the hour. Also jam squash for 45mins a week or so.

Got myself a road cycle last week, so RocketBoy can start pushing me with cycling over the weekends.

Lost 3kgs in the last month, but it goes back up randomly. Losing cm's, although I'm not measuring it, but I am getting comments about it, so apparently it shows.

i'm also down 20kg's, but over the period of 11months so far. Could have been more, but busy putting on some muscle, and saw something interesting, i lost 15% of body fat on my back, but my chest is still the exact same measurement.

Also just down to eating healthy, gym 2-4 times a week, and got rid of beer/brandy !!!

Good luck man, it takes commitment, but its worth it
