Weight Loss/ Gain thread Dec 2014 - 2015

My updates more from a fitness perspective than a weight one.

I'm not losing weight in fact I seem to be gaining slightly (still need to check fat %'s to confirm if fat or muscle) but at the rate i'm exercising / eating I'd be very surprised to see fat % going up.

Spent half of training yesterday doing sparring. I got to spar with the ladies yesterday and it's a very good excuse to put emphasis on my movement and jabs, as I can't throw tons of combo's or put too much force behind my punches.

I'm feeling very happy with the results so far. I could lunge in and out with a jab and avoid all counters with ease, perhaps easier as my opponents aren't as good as the men - but still good to know that it's coming together nicely in terms of movement and fitness. The pieces are falling in to place nicely!

You do spar with better more experienced opponents too right ?

Definitely.

It's a complete mixed bag as to who you get on what day. They rotate everyone, so you all get a turn to try your hand at all the opponents.

Sparring the ladies just gives you more of a chance to work on technique / footwork, as some of the guys want to throw down and brawl at times - which doesn't necessarily help facilitate perfect technique.

I see your point

Had a few sparring sessions in the ring this evening.

Knocked down my first opponent then got switched to a new fresh opponent and we clobbered one another. Then had a session with a random I don't know and he dropped me to the canvas with a wild hook I didn't see coming. My first time being knocked down in boxing!

Fitness is coming along though even though i'm absolutely wasted by the end of the session.

Dont trust the scale at gym. The "scale" at work says 95.5 kg.

Down to 87.7kg, The previous two weeks were very slow with 700gr and 600gr loss. And then this week a big 1.8kg.

Remember guys. And this should be the motto of this thread.

Long term consistency always trumps short term intensity.

So I'm dropping about 200 - 300g per week currently. A somewhat calorie restrictive meal plan during the day (small meals) and at night I eat more but still small meals. My rule of thumb is eating every 2 to 3 hours, whenever hungry.

Am eating out for dinner a couple of times a week. I don't pig out, I drink water and avoid drinks with calories in them.

Not cutting out any foods per se. Yesterday was all bran flakes, 2 boiled eggs twice in the day (i.e. 4 total), two slices of bread with choc peanut butter, sushi for dinner and muesli cereal for pre-bed snack.

Just an update on my LCHF progress, as from my last posts, Opening scale weight was 100kg's on 20th October 2014. Weighed in on 21st Jan 2015 at 84kg's. So 16 kg's in 3 months, so around a kg/week. Problem is clothing looks stupid now. Still going strong, but able to eat some of the orange list stuff now. Sweet potato chips anyone?

At farking last, 1kg down in nearly 4 weeks.
2014 February = 133kg, Started with High Protein diet
2014 Novemebr 14 - 128kg, Started on LCHF on this day
2015 February 9 - 118kg

So thats 10kg in +- 3 months.
Hopefully I can lose another 10kg in 3 months, But since I lost 9kg in the first 2 months, and only 1kg in the last month, Im probably only going to lose 3kg in the next 3 months

Use it / don't use it

To those not seeing the results they want, I only started properly dropping fat (after the initial water loss) when I started tracking my macros.

Also, just wanted to post this:
http://www.reddit.com/r/Fitness/comments/21yvse/my_3_year_transformation_from_clinically_obese/

Thought it was awesome motivation. Took that dude three years, and he went through some stuff, but he did it.

That is amazing.

I need to buy some heavier weights. And change my exercise routine a bit.
