Weight Loss Thread 2014

Nothing wrong with the extra cheese

I pretty much quit dairy and as much as I love feta I haven't even thought of it once. I personally feel much better without dairy, as little as I used to have. At the first lick of an ice cream my throat already feels icky.

holy crap, great find, thanks! :)

Shopping cart is down :(
Have emailed them...

I'm yet to find grass fed butter available in Durban though... Maybe somebody in JHB will be kind enough to courier me a couple kilograms packed in dry ice ;)

last time I checked the kerrygold here is not actually 100% grass fed

EDIT: I have no source for why I thought the above. I can't actually find ANY information on whether it is the imported product or just branded here in za. Either way I'd like a local source. Grass & cows are both abundant here, so I don't see why we should import butter from across the planet, and we do have organic, grass only fed available here, just not the distribution chain it seems.

O on this bit, studies have indicated that humans might actually not be intended to eat diary products of animals as the proteins contained in them are very difficult if not impossible for our bodies to absorb and yes disclaimer, this might be based on old studies.
But if you feel better without it in your diet than just maybe your on to something ;)

Dairy is one of those things that's variable in our genetic make up, some people can handle it better than others, it's something you have to figure out yourself.

Just be careful. WW organic butter isn't grass-fed (how natural/organic is that...).
I bought grass-fed butter from a little dairy in the west of Jhb last year. It was more expensive than Kerrygold.

Thing with Kerrygold is that they might be sending SA their winter produce, which isn't strictly grass-fed as the cows get a supplement of about 10% wheat/barley/soy according to their website, and the winter feed will include more non-grass feed than the other seasons when the cows are left out to pasture.

OK I think i'm in on this thread too, after the festive season :(
Picked up 5 Kg in about 2-3 weeks so not cool.

At the moment sitting at 87.4Kg and 180cm

I would think it's mostly water weight you've gained though. I picked up 2kg when I went carb crazy for about 10 days during the festive period. One week back on primal/paleo and I'm back down to 61kg.

Yeah.... I honestly don't trust any of the mainstream stores here. I would also like to purchase in bulk from a small local diary and freeze it. I just have not found anybody geared up for shipping to Durban. Cape town and JHB seem to have multiple options.
