Weight Loss Thread 2014

she needs to give it time, everyone is unique and there are so many different influencing factors

I have to keep reminding some people that fat loss is a marathon, not a 100m dash

Very true. It took years of bad eating habits to get your body into this state...don't expect to lose everything in a week.

Consistency is the key.

I seem to have firmly beaten 75.

Breakfast: 4 chicken drumsticks
Lunch: 2 pieces of fried fish
Taking a multivitamin now as well. So far feeling 100% better than this past week.

Finally broken the 90kg barrier, weight 89,2kg, waist 97cm,height 181cm. Had a bacon and cheese on 1 slice of low carb bread fried in bacon grease to celebrate.Hope it does'nt tip me back over 90kg again.

Even if it does, you're on the right track.

Thanks. It was so damn easy actually. No carbs, no sugar, and boom! About 10 KGs down the drain a month and a bit later. Crazy!

The question is... now that you know how easy it is to lose, are you going to go straight back to your old habits?

There is no chance, at all.

I like being in control of my weight, and this is hopefully only the beginning of a much longer and in-depth examination of how to live a healthy life.

Good to hear! Between the last challenge and this one, I did not put any effort into maintaining the weight loss, and surprisingly I did! Obviously when I went back to carbs I gained back the initial water weight I lost, but from then on I pretty much maintained without any effort at all. I didn't go back to my old ways, but I certainly did pig out on occasion.

I would also say that the main reason I am certain I will not fall of this particular wagon is the fact that I seem to have quite honestly vanquished the role of alcohol in my life. No drinking = An iron-like will, regarding issues of willpower such as the food one.

That is exactly what I told her, besides she hasnt been doing it for very long so she is nowhere near where she should be.
Its probably because Im losing so quickly. I lost lost just under 4kg's in close to a week.

That is great news, I recall a while ago you wanting to quit alcohol so this is a really good way to do it.

3rd day of low carb no sugar diet. Suffering with really bad lower back pain. Also got a bit of insomnia. Anybody go through this as well?

Not the back pain, I can't see how that would be linked to the LCHF ...... I did have a headache and insomnia and was a bit grumpy for the 1st week though.

side effects of the switchover vary from person to person, headaches, nausea, lethargy, stomach upset, sweats etc. all seem to be pretty common in some degree or other
