Weight loss

Why would fruit be bad?
Fructose is not the same as normal cane sugar.

I eat fruit all day and have continued loosing weight.

key point.

Obviously that is what your body wants then. Like meanie said - stuffing up your body with carbs and sugar is going to have its cons.

I'm not against science - I'm just saying if you realise you only lose fat cutting carbs then cut the carbs etc. The eating plan that lost me the most weight included rice and ******* mieliepap. Just because that works for me doesn't mean its scientifically correct or that it will work for someone else. If a ******* banana gives me a headache I'm not going to eat the ******* banana.

Sounds like... common sense? Which seems to get squashed when it comes to our bodies, because we're so misinformed and confused by all the sources we have for info.

If what you're doing works for you then that's it, don't fix what ain't broke. People keep trying to put forward grand unifying theories of fat loss as if we're all clones of each other. Low-carb might be great for some people, bad for others. The "science" is not based on experiments done on YOUR body, so there is no assurance it is correct for you.

You will come right, it just takes patience.

QFT. Our bodies are working on their own time schedules, not the ones we might have in mind. Which, again because of social conditioning, are probably not realistic.

It's even higher GI than glucose.
You obviously don't have a problem with carbs.

Ok I'll admit I do come from a family of non milk drinkers so my view on milk differs from most other peoples. Its just what I think.
And I find milk quite disgusting. Ugh and if it touches me :cry:

If I ditch the 2 fruits I usually have can I replace it with Lindt? I haven't had chocolate in so long, I can't remember what it tastes like.

According to meany you can have a whole slab of 90% Lindt.
It is an aquired taste - but I love it, my wife goes blah.

okay, thanks for the explanation, at least we all know where you're coming from now :D

here's some info on dairy for the rest of you that don't have milk issues  :D

Medium-chain fatty acids are found in dairy fats (milk, butter and cream) and in some ‘tropical oils’ like palm oil. These fatty acids, with the slight exception of 12-carbon laurate, are not incorporated into triglycerides and stored in the body. Once eaten, they must be promptly oxidized for fuel by mitochondria. Unlike long-chain fatty acids that require assistance from mitochondrial membrane proteins to get into the mitochondrial matrix, medium-chain fatty acids bypass this regulatory step. If we consume more medium-chain fats than can be burned in a short period of time, our liver converts the excess into ketones, which in turn can be burned by a wider range of organs (e.g., the brain).

why are you not on the front page list of names?

I've already reached my target goal and have continued loosing weight.
There's no real point in me entering.

I don't want to make you all feel bad about yourselves.

Seriously though, I am confused about fruit now.
I always thought fruit in most qtys are fine.

I eat 2 bananas a day, an apple, a pear and sometimes a citrus of sorts.
Now you're telling me it's bad?
