Weight loss

btw anyone know what I can do for swollen feet / ankles? My ankles kinda turn blue :erm:

Sit with your feet up for a while?

Generally caused by bad circulation or high blood pressure. Maybe get yourself checked out?

I think we have different ideas of what is exciting, but good luck, hope you make it to the end, I don't think I can run further than 200 meters.

Get yourself a Nike+ device (Fuelband, Sportswatch or Sportsband or just the Nike+ footpod and iPod) and sign up with Nike+ - it's a perfect motivator - tracks your movement and progress and allows your friends and family to motivate you. Running at 5min/K (or 6K in 30min) is not really much of an issue after some time and once those endorphins kick in, you start feeling really great. Big realisation was that treadmill fitness does not equal roadfitness.

I also suggest that you look at parkrun.co.za - a great way to start getting into it (happens every Saturday in a number of parks across SA).

What shoe's are you running in?

Nike cross trainers (probably not the best - only got them cause they were black and pink :D) But its not the shoes - or not those specifically because it happened before I got them and now more or less everyday. I used to have to work in heels then it was much better.

I did and the dr gave me pills... Don't want them :D
I have a better doctor now so maybe I should just go see her

Won't work for me, the reason I can't run far is I get terrible shin splints when I run. It is probably because I am a fat bastard and most of my weight is above waist high and my legs can't cope with running and carrying the extra weight.

I've also got some plans to hit the road this weekend... received my Xero shoes this week, keen to try them out properly. I think I'll mostly just be walking until I've got the sandals fitting properly. I haven't run in years and would like to try it again - but without causing knee problems like I did before.

Get better shoes. Had Shin splits aswell and how the shoe your training with contours your foot is really important.
Have you had your shins checked out? Might be micro-fractures...

Maybe how your jogging is the issue :p
Shoes are 60% of the issue most time runners complain.
I used to be a long-distance and sprint runner.

Where is everyone??

I've been feeling super tired during the day and awake as anything at night... Don't know whats wrong because that's not me...

I'm here!!!

Morning all. Had a weigh in yesterday and my scale moved whoop!! I'm down 1.1 on my last weigh in. Feels like 10kgs to me. :D After 2 months of no movement it feels awesome to see a change again no matter how small.

Oh n no head ache yesterday so now I need to decide if I'm going to do this cycled keto n live with 4 days of headache while I'm at it... Decisions decisions

Happy Friday!!!

Happy Friday!!!

I'm doing a cycled keto. One high carb meal on Friday, low grade headache on Saturday that's gone by the evening. Don't even have to take painkillers for it. As your body gets more used to using fat as fuel, you will start to feel better...and the best thing is after 3 weeks (in my case), no more cravings. I'm quite happy eating eggs now :D
