Weirdest Flash Drive Issue

I have recently bought a new flash drive, I formatted before using. If I copy documents and pdf files, it works perfectly. As soon as I copy avi or exe files, they become corrupted. I then copy this corrupted avi or exe to the Desktop and it still stays corrupted.

I then changed all exe files to pdf files (thought it was a exe problem) and from there copied it to the Desktop and changed it back to exe files. It shows as corrupted as well.

The flash drive can carry 2gigs of PDF's but not even one exe file? My virus program haven't detected any viruses. My pc also have 2 external HDD on USB, no problem there.

What could be the issue? :(

Which file system? NTFS or FAT32?

What is the total size of the Flash Drive? 2 Gigs?

If you have Windows 7, try formatting it with the new xFAT file System.

Does it only occur on your computer, or other computers?
Have you tried disabling your antivirus to see if that fixes the problem?

It's FAT32 and 2GIGS. As far as I can see, it must be a Flash Drive issue. The PDF at the print shop didn't even want to open now.

I tried it on another computer too now, same issue. The other pc doesn't even have an anti virus.

I've only ever seen this error on fake 8/16/32gb flash disks.

Yep - sounds like a fake to me - try running some tests with h2testw and see what it returns - I hope you kept the receipt...
