Hi folks

During the Altech court case some users suggested that we use the community fund to buy Mr. Venter a good whiskey to thank him for tackling the Minister of Communications and ICASA and trying to liberate the telecoms industry. We agreed that it was a good idea and delivered it a few days ago.

The Altech CEO quickly came back to us, and thanked MyBroadband and its members for their support and of course for the 15 year old whisky.

“On behalf of everyone at Altech, we are overwhelmed by your encouragement and that of consumers who hold forum discussions on MyBroadband.co.za”

Mr Venter further said that Altech remains committed to fighting the VANS issue which is affecting the industry negatively and to open up a more leveled playing field in favour of the consumer.

Thanks a bunch to Altech and Mr. Venter for battling this issue and for taking the Minister to task. I hope we can send him another bottle when Altech wins the appeal!

He deserves a decent bottle of Whisky (Not that manky Whiskey stuff)... :p
 
It is indeed refreshing to see a company tackle the Minister head on, and a big bonus that they won the case. I wish Altech the best of luck with the rest of the case.

Indeed - well done to the boys at Altech and may they get Ivy's appeal out of the way ASAP. :)
 
It's a good gesture, and good PR for MyBB, but be wary of those Venters - many a story could be told.

fact: there is no disgrace in plying your lawyer with quality booze

re altech: self-serving actions which have broader repercussions - so well done for putting your money where your mouth is as almost everyone (except WAPA) else failed to do
