We just arrived at a remote venue, and this is the speed I get on Vodacom 3G:

Download Speed: 10837 kbps (1354.6 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 2016 kbps (252 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 67 ms

This is far faster than our fixed connection at the office in the middle of Gauteng. Well done Vodacom – saves me from having to engage with all this nature around us :D

Watch out for the shark, that thing can bankrupt you at that speed ... ;)

Nice latency. I'm currently getting worse pings on my adsl line.

Vodacom is the best network for smartphones ...
and probably other devices too

(but not for the holders of the wallet)

Wow, amazing numbers there.

Vodacom recently put 3G up at my grandma's rural area...havn't given that a test as of yet. Cell C also has 3G in the same rural area, think I was getting around 5Mbps down. I always thought MyBB HQ would be running on 40Mbps line.

Speeds even better today:

Last Result:
Download Speed: 13675 kbps (1709.4 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 3066 kbps (383.3 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 56 ms

Definitely not downloading anything - email, web surfing and some chess...nothing else :D

 Wow!

I wonder what LTE speeds are like in the area?

Misleading title, should have been: Look at my speed I'm getting ATM.
It will probably be changed soon to: OOB shark strikes again :D

One would think myBB has 40Meg ADSL at their office...

I concur with RPM in that we have done and tried all networks and VC comes out tops every time. The prove is in the pudding as I travel to all the smallest of towns in the Western Cape province, always trying other network SIM's first in my mobile data devices with the VC coming out the winner every time. It is to be remembered that cheaper comes at a premium cost to service delivery. VC is probably more expensive but it works in the remote small towns where the other are useless. Not a fanboy but the facts in daily use is the prove of good service.

Vodacom in bundle rates are very competitive and often better than competition.
Yet everyone attaches the expensive tag to Vodacom.
Why?

Because of this:
