I want to buy a 22" Wide Screen. Doesn't have to be a brilliant one, but it does have to be cheap (or at least great value for money).

What do you guys suggest?

Samsung?

Sahara have the 2232GW on special this week for R2099 ex. vat?

Samsung 2232GW probably best value.
There is a Proline 22" for R1800ex from pinnicle, havent seen it though.

I would suggest the HP w2207h (the hdmi version, dont buy the standard one)..but no one here would agree with me.. samsung fanbois

Doesn't the HP have the reflective screen which causes major issues in rooms with glass doors or big windows??

I would think the HP is much more expensive. EDIT: Both the hpshop.co.za and Digitalplanet have it for R3999. Even if you can get it a bit cheaper, that is a big price increase to justify.

broken1 is looking for cheap and great value, so it's basically the Samsung or Proline/Acer if you want it even cheaper.

How are the LG 22" LCDs?

im sorry but samsung is the best and the price is also top notch

best 22" on the market in its price range

dont bother with proline or acer spend the lil extra on the samsung

trust its worth it :)

when i got my samsung setup, it actually made me slightly horny :)

Re LG LCD's. I use a 19" LCD for work (Model - L1918S) and I must admit that it is fabulous ... espcially with the glare and reflection issue. The screen is matt black (and I do mean dark black) - no reflection whatsoever.

Only thing I do not like their buttons and setup - it is very confusing.

Have not seen the samsung - wonder if it is as matt as this one.

PS the other day I was at makro and they were selling the Fujitsu Siemens LCD dirt cheap - I dont think they are good for gaming - I recall the box saying 5ms.

.

Thats if you can tell the differance. I can't between my 8ms & 2ms

What about 22" Acer screen from Digital Planet?

It's cheap, looks decent and has 2 good customer reviews. I would do a Cash on Collection from DP - so no issues from my side if they can't supply within the 48 hours lead time promised!

Is it decent? The samsung from PC International is like R300 more. Is it worth the extra cash? Do both have DVI inputs?

Acer 26Wide LCD, AL2623W, speakers, dual input (DVI with HDCP), 1920x1200, 5ms response time, titanium silver R 3,299

What about this from PC international!
