What 22" Wide Screen?

I would think the HP is much more expensive. EDIT: Both the hpshop.co.za and Digitalplanet have it for R3999. Even if you can get it a bit cheaper, that is a big price increase to justify.

broken1 is looking for cheap and great value, so it's basically the Samsung or Proline/Acer if you want it even cheaper.
HEHE.. that was my point.. kinda silly running into a discussion called everyone fanbois of a certain brand, when your advice is out of the required budget mentioned

I would suggest the HP w2207h (the hdmi version, dont buy the standard one)..but no one here would agree with me.. samsung fanbois

Acer 26Wide LCD, AL2623W, speakers, dual input (DVI with HDCP), 1920x1200, 5ms response time, titanium silver R 3,299

What about this from PC international!

What about this guys? I know it's a fair bit more expensive, but it seems really cheap for a 26".

You got a link to that? Must be something wrong with it...

On PC international's website under components. I called them to ask the price, the said it was 3299ex and stock is arriving on monday! Sounds too cheap, doesn't it!

Their prices are very competitive, but you just need to confirm stock again. I was told once they had stock for some MB but when I arrived there couple hours later, no stock. And they promised it will be delivered the next day, after several days, I bought another better MB from another dealer down the road.

I think I'm just going to go with the 22" Wide from Digital Planet. It's easy, I'll put in on my credit card and life will be good.

It certainly does.

Don't know so much about Digital Planet. There are numerous threads on here dedicated to just how poor their service is.

I was being a bit ofg a fanboi myself

Never buy anything from the HPshop...they are rather expensive..I paid R3300 for mine, would have thought that the price might have dropped to atleast R3K. The fact that you can twist and turn the monitor however you like justifies it...for me anyway..

How are the LG 22" LCDs?
Didn't read his post properly :o but I would agree on the Samsung as the best option..Acer monitors are cheaper, but I doubt they have the same specs as the Samsung..there is an LG 22" monitor (LG L226WTQ) with similar specs as the Samsung (2ms response time,etc)..but when I bought my HP the LG cost about R3000-R3200.

What about the Samsung 226BW ? It's gorgeous and non glossy.

Rectron have some 22" Asus screens, though I've not seen them in person.

Yeah :( I've noticed.. I really don't feel too strongly towards the glossy screens.

PS the other day I was at makro and they were selling the Fujitsu Siemens LCD dirt cheap - I dont think they are good for gaming - I recall the box saying 5ms.

My dad bought a Fujitsu 22" 5ms from Makro yesterday. Gonna nick it while he's sailing and test it out over the weekend :D

hmmm I need to get me a new 22".... lemme go check out this makro deal

Still looking at a SAMSUNG SYNCMASTER 931BW 19".

Birthday in 2 weeks so maybe I'll actually get one :D
